Babalu

Good news, Frank. I remember being at a similar stage in my recovery. Being able to communicate without much trouble and move a hand to summon a nurse or to do something as simple as scratch an itch is huge. It's also great news to hear he's able to sit up in bed (with assistance I assume).

I hope he's been able to get outside (rolled out in bed or a chair or whatever) for some fresh air before the weather gets too cold. I was surprised how good sunlight and fresh air felt to me after an extended time inside.

Keep on kickin' a** Babs! :thumb:

You're slipping, BoR... I didn't see a prayer post from you yesterday... ;)

But we all are still praying for you, babs! :toast:
This is a team effort young lady, if I can't go I expect you and others to step up and see that the job gets done. :Lecture:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Good News of Jesus Christ, through whom we are brought back to Your glorious presence. Thank You for the good news of Babalu's improved condition, thank You for the dedication of his caregivers and his family, thank You for all the good things we enjoy, like the technology that brings us together to know and care for Babs. I ask Your mercy to continue Bab's healing, to bless his caregivers to fully know and use their gifts, to bless his family with a rapidly recovering father and husband, to bless us all to know to turn to Your Word for guidance and to strengthen our knowledge of Your love and our need for You in our lives. Thank You for my own medical news today, lab reports of benign are always a blessing, to You be the glory Lord. In the Name above all names, Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and the living proof of Your love for each one of us. Amen.

Amen to that.

Brother Box has had the christian side of things pretty well covered, but just to hedge our bets and hopefully provide a little more I'm going to go "outside the Box" a bit.

Here is a healing meditation known as "The Medicine Buddha" accompanied by a buddhist prayer wheel. Every time it spins it sends a prayer of healing out and I like to think of it sitting here in cyberspace spinning away like mad.

Wow, how exciting! Thanks again for the updates Frank, nothing but good news.... and I hope Jeff's wife and family are doing ok too, tell them to keep up the great work. There is an end to this ordeal in sight.

I wish I didn't live far away so I could visit. We're looking forward to his recovery here in the Anderson household. Even my wife, who doesn't post on here, asks me about updates

Hey, what else did you expect me to do with all that free time? Some of those nurses were total babes! It was like torture! Getting sponge baths from a cute student nurses and having to keep my hands to myself and try to keep my...ah, reflexes...um, down. A spongebath may sound nice but when you have to behave it's torture I tell ya, pure torture! And being in the hospital is like the mother of all dry spells. I remember when I misunderstood what a "head nurse" was and made a lewd request when she asked if there was anything I wanted! Wow, I'll never make that mistake again! I'm still having nightmares about that colonosc..wait, we're not talking about me are we? Nevermind.

Heavenly Father, this is starting out to be a rough morning, sin does indeed take it's toll on our bodies. I thank You for the good things in my life, for shelter, food, medication, the where withal to care for my parents in their old age, for the entertainment funds to buy my books and post on the interweb, for Your Word, Your promise of forgiveness through Jesus Christ, for the fellowship of church, for the sacrament of Holy Baptism and the sacrament of the Holy Communion table. I thank You for the healing gifts of our doctors, nurses, physician's assistants, therapists, and all medical workers down to the maintenance people providing a clean, safe environment. I thank You for the care Babalu has been receiving, I ask Your mercy to speed his rehabilitation and recovery to coincide with his insurance's limitations, I ask Your mercy to send him home strong and confident and capable of being the father You want him to be, to raise his children to know You, to love his wife as himself, and to entertain his friends here and elsewhere with the warped humor we all know well. I thank You for life and the promise of life everlasting with You; strengthen the seeds of faith You have planted, let each of us so gifted always turn to Your Word to water and feed this gift, to strengthen our belief, and to encourage us to live our lives as witness to Your love, Your gifts, Your promise, that those who have not heard Your Word may be brought to know Your love for us as witnessed in the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in whose Name I pray. Amen.

"Coming Back to Life"

Here's a tune for Babalu. I think the words are most appropriate.
