No one started this yet?

Game 1 looks good so far! 45-30 over The Chosen Ones at halftime. :toast:

Now let's see if the old fogies wear down in the 2nd half.

2nd half was not so good. Garnett missing those two at the end was troubling.

But...:toast: 1-0 is better than 0-1, and beating The Chosen Ones is even better.

What did one of those doosherbets predict? 73 wins? They better get cracking - only 8 slipups allowed in their next 81 games...

I was certainly happy to see the Heat lose, but I don't think I'll be watching much basketball this season. About 3/4 through the game I realized it was more important to me to see the Heat lose rather than see the Celtics win.

I'm sick of seeing ONE NY Yankees buying championships, I don't have the stomach for another.

With all the overboard hyping of the Heat I think I'll pass on the NBA this year.

the Heat will be a ~60 win team this year. Unless they find some bigs to control the boards and clog the lanes they're going to have problems with teams like Boston and Orlando all year long.

Look at it this way- those of us who really know baseball looked at the Yankees this year and said "won't happen, they don't have the pitching". What I'm saying about the NBA equivalent is "won't happen, they don't have the size or depth"

Enjoy the season Cassius, should be fun. Once Perk is back the Celtics are going to have stupid depth and size, and Delonte West will give them great backcourt depth once he's back from suspension.

I think a few things about this game

The Celtic

Rondo is a beast, imagine if he could hit the 15' set shot on a regular basis

Donkey and Shrek (Nate and Baby) are getting what it takes to play and understand now is the time to get rings, their time to wander for the money will come after the rings

Paul is already in his Emmy winning performance mode

Ray is amazing when he just lets it fly....

Nice to see Kevin move better than the past 2 seasons

Shaq hopefully can handle giving 18 -22 minutes with 10-15 pnts and 7-9 Rebounds a game without getting bored

the 2nd unit would beat a 2/5th of the other teams starters

it is early but when the team slows down, they lose their offense

Defense looks wicked pissah

The Heat
they need to learn to play as a team, too much isolation and not enough set plays.

Bosh is not a post up player and the every 4 minutes attempt to force it in to him is foolish

James is not the answer at PG, I mean PF, for the heat unless it is a fast paced game.

again the team is still learning each other but 60 wins will not happen this year...expect a sh!tload of in house bickering. Not one of these Guy will be able to make the Ray Allen sacrifice without feeling slighted - the likely candidate is Bosh but he is a wing player being forced down low where Ray was told to remain outside and wait for his chance

Daniels looked really good.

The Celtics bench is CRAZY GOOD and only going to get better.

I wish, but know it won't happen, that Shaq would swallow his pride and just lose 20 lbs.

That 2nd charging call on Pierce was one of the worst cases of superstar treatment by a ref I've ever seen.

I'm half surprised that Pierce didn't ask for a stretcher.ROFLROFLROFL

Bosh looked timid at best and flat-out scared at times.

shaq is supposed to be 40 lbs lighter than last year

I think with his frame he plays himself into shape after an offseason of swimming and making Shaq Vs

The Heat are going to suck against teams that manage to slow down their game to a half-court game.

here's all you need to know-

the same tools who anointed the Heat the second coming of Jordan's Bulls are the same bunch of tools who pick the Colts to win the Super Bowl every year and the Yankees to win the World Series every year. They pay no attention to foundational structure or the strengths/weaknesses vs. opposition and matchups...no, they're drawn to flashy highlight reels. That's all they know. The Heat, as currently constituted, won't make it past the second round of the playoffs. They'll run into either the Celtics or the Magic and get destroyed on the boards and suffocated in the half court game.

He is just the man and been at it consistently for so long. I have so much love for this team.

Yeah, the bucks played pretty well. Bogut had a sick game and there was no one to contest him in the paint really - but magnificent by Pierce when it counted.

MF'ing clutch throws by Pierce to seal that one and passing 20k points

Rondo, the assist machine, Pierce passing 20k, Garnett's world class D and matching trash talk, Shaq's big personality. Lot's to like with this C's team.

They look turrible tonight vs. the Mavs.

Well, until the last few minutes. They still might win - because they're very good - but they don't look very good tonight. This Turkish doof is a spaz. Has some potential, but he's painful to watch.

Didn't see the game, so I'll just be happy with a road win

How about Rondo this season guys. I mean really, man is playing lights out ball.

I know he missed the 3 the other night to win the game but did read Capt'n saying he wants him to take those shots.

These Celtics are gonna be special this year.

The Celtics are my first/main/lasting love. Everything else is just entertainment.

I live and die on these ****ing games man, I swear. Love this shit to death.

Anyone else that die hard here that keeps up with every stat or is it mainly Pats?
