So, Ladies...Let's talk about Grey

I probably will never read the books but what is the jist of it?

A 21 year old college girl becomes involved with a slightly older really rich guy. He introduces her to sexuality. Bondage.

It's pretty weak, though. The characters are off. There is no way a 21 year old girl would accept this scenario without a second thought. Several of my friends have stopped reading less an 50 pages in. I'm at 120 or so.

hmmm what kind of scenario?

This guy takes her into his bondage room and she doesn't react. Doesn't freak out. In fact, while she is reading the contract, he orders her to eat and she does, because "it's going to be that way sooner than later."

Really?

a contract?? LOL As for the rest I guess it goes along with the whole submissive bondage whatever stuff. Believe it or not there are ladies out there that would like it and go with it. I for one am not lol The whole eat now thing would make me laugh but I guess it's like role playing? I dunno still doesn't seem like anything that would interest me.

Read The Story of O. Probably close to the same story but done better.

No. Cheese and grapes to go with the white wine.

Can you believe that shit?

And how many times can she say Oh....my!?????

It's ****ing ridiculous!

The daughter of a lifelong friend read them. She's 17. She didn't want to "ruin anything" so she wasn't wanting to dish, but I told her she better sum it all up because I was irritated. She said: Oh....my! Gave me the Reader's Digest version of all three. Told me to skip the redundant sex acts and just read the story because it's not a bad tale.

I was ROFL while she did the synopsis. When a 17 year old tells you to skip it because it's redundant, it's bad.

I will read them now. I'll be done by tomorrow afternoon.

Lolita was rather stunning as well. Both reads were assigned to me by nuns at a Catholic University. Lolita as an undergraduate.

I reassert that these books are so seriously over hyped. Significantly fraudulent. The story is so simple minded.

One of my friends sent me a cartoon of a woman having a drink at a bar. It's captioned: Im writing a new book called Fifty Shades of Shut the F*ck Up.

Exactly right.
