She finally has a dog! (she's been bugging us for one for ages now, since apparently having a cat isn't enough)...

The dog belongs to my sister in law, mind you, so it's a question of temporary adoption rather than us getting a puppy

They up North, Duck. Corolla? (Just thinking you might head that way, I always do.)

Love OBX. Go their every couple of years in September.

Cheers, enjoy the free time

They're going to be in Carova Beach, I think. I never really responded to this and for that I apologize.

I'll just say I knew it! (it's the end of OBX I guessed might be attractive to you).

Carova is just north of where we go in Corolla. No roads there, (Drive out on the beach) just miles of beautiful beaches and wild horses. Great spot, great seclusion. Perfect. Spent one week almost at the Virginia Border (marked by a wire fence running out into the ocean so you can't drive thru) back around 2005.

Cheers

Admittedly I had very little to do with the travel plans -- everything on the OBX leg of the trip was arranged by my mother in law, but she does enjoy her seclusion (their usual holidays are hiking ones in VT and Canaduh), so it doesn't surprise me if she picked such a spot.

I've never spent much time in North Carolina and what little I have spent was decidedly depressing. Alarmingly high levels of poverty from what I saw, with clusters of very high wealth. Not much middle class type living where I've traveled, but as I said it isn't very extensive so I might be very wide off the mark. Either way, I'm sure the Mrs and the children will have a wonderful time there and I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever see them again (kids have been telling me how awesome air con is!) :)

I may have posted this before (it's from July 2nd). I'm also testing the YouTube embedding function.

Been quiet since last month but will say it on here (still keeping it quiet on facebook). We are nine weeks pregnant and we had an early ultrasound today that was planned. Baby is good, has heartbeat and was wiggling around while we were watching. There was waterworks from both Sarah and I. Still not out of the woods but feels good to know it is good now. Now to start planning the pregnancy announcement picture.

There is an ice cream truck that comes in our subdivision. Elizabeth can hear it before any of us. They came through yesterday but Elizabeth was down at Sarah’s parents for the night. They knew she didn’t come outside and came back through today to get her. Lucky for me they came just as I was mowing the yard and I got me something also.
