Pick ONE player from Pats past

Sam Hunt :D

Needs:

oline
scat back
another corner

The other needs will return this year, while I question Edelman's ability to cut on his foot, AMEN-dola is a nice replacement when healthy.

so 3rd down back vs CB

best 3rd down backs - Faulk is obvious but I will give you Andy Johnson as my choice, He could catch the ball with the limited options he was given.

best CB - Haynes is NFL HOF, Law is a great choice and a few other DB's were good but not at this level - Mike Haynes could return Punts better than Law. Give me Haynes.

so the pick is Haynes or Andy Johnson and while the pats had AJ to offset OJ in buffalo, I have to say CB/Return specialist Mike Haynes is my choice.

I love Hannah but is Oline as big a need as CB/return man and return man sells Haynes.

Tough - Hannah was the greatest ever but Tippet never got national love.

The Clown worded the OP in an interesting way.

It's not "who's the best at a particular position", it's "who would you sign right now".

I picked Morgan over Moss, because I don't think Brady would try to keep forcing the ball to Morgan like he did with Moss. Also, there's less chance of Morgan falling off the deep end in a post-game presser.

I took Ty over Haynes because in this defense, you need a corner who can not only cover, but who can tackle. While I see the benefit of having Haynes as a returner at the current time (which made this closer for me), but in today's NFL, Law can play and cover taller, and faster guys without committing penalties. I think Haynes would get flagged on every other play, and get lit up by taller receivers.

was just trying to say i would be happy with any of the above, based on current needs and only 1 it would be moss. in his prime he was a 1 man O, and yes brady would force it and in his prime moss would make brady look smart for doing so...

if this team was fully healthy it would be dillon, he would rip the guts out of opposing Defenses

You just saved me from typing a big lecture about the rank failure to follow directions around here. (Thread title even has ONE in caps).

Somebody could always start a Name Your Pats All Time All Stars Team . . . but that wouldn't be this thread.:coffee:
