Not sure how much interest there is here for this series but I am really looking forward to it. I am rooting hard for Cleveland as I dislike GS for various reasons but mostly because I think they are soft like Indy Colts soft and I can't stand that. I am hoping Lebron brings it like he did in games 5-7 last year but it will be a tall order to beat GS with Durant in the mix. As b-ball fans this series does not get any better!

Who are you rooting for and why?

Also rooting for the Cavs. I like LeBron as a player. Always have and it's been cool to watch his game evolve. And even though I enjoy laughing at their misery, it was nice to see Cleveland finally win something. Would rather LeBron add to his legacy than the GS 'Dream Team' get a title.

Don't like GS "super team" winning it, so preference there for Cav's.
Nothing against Durant personally, but big free agents going to already winning teams to make them uber-winning isn't good for any sport. Seriously, the entire playoffs was just a wait for the Cav's v. GS finals to start.

if Cav's lose then hopefully Lebron whines, thus providing some side entertainment.

Cavs, but holy shit if this doesn't go seven, I'm gonna be pissed.

Cavs are close to a super team. LeBrons has a series of one year deals to beat the cap. Love, Irving and LeBron is quite a trio with a good team and don't forget they lost Bogat right after getting him to a broken leg.

Exactly! People be acting like Cleveland doesn't have anyone but LeBron. Hoping for Golden State to sweep them but I'll settle for them just winning the series

I don't care who wins. All this LeBron-this and LeBron-that talk makes me sick. It's as if Jordan, Bird, Garnett, Kareem, Magic, Duncan, Wilt, Cousy, Erving, Oscar, Russell and the rest have been forgotten. Even national sportscasters have become prisoners of the moment. And now I'm hearing Durant is in line to make $41M/! It's nauseating.

Truthfully, I'm just happy, ecstatic really, that basketball and hockey are having their finals series so that in 12 days or so the major TV and radio networks can finally focus on the only sport that matters...football and specifically the NFL.

:coffee:

edit: Stephen A and Skip both picked Bird over LeBron. Had to throw this in there.

Puck you

How ironic is it that Mike Brown, former Cavs HC & now the acting coach of GS while Steve Kerr is out, is still collecting paychecks from the Cavs? Brown won his first finals game ever Thursday night against the Cavs. The Cavs will continue to pay him through 2020

Coming Up: What did the Steelers show last night?

Not much if we're talking the last AFC Championship Game. :D

I am really enjoying LeBron getting his butt kissed while he is a -33 in 2 finals games. He is the second best small forward in this series so far.

They run everything through him and play no defense, of course he is going to compile stats.

Jordan > Magic > Kobe > LeBron?
Any talk of him being better than Jordan is infantile.

Magic - 9 finals and 5 wins (Celtics and Sixers and Pistons in the way)
Kobe - 7 finals and 5 wins (while the Spurs were winning 5 of 6 in his own conference)
Jordan - 6 finals and 6 wins (Lakers and Pistons in the way)

His Super Team was a joke that went 2-2 in the finals. There is no all-time greatness there, just an All-Star team playing to par.
'Not 1, not 2...' Yeah, 2 exactly!
Who was his biggest challenge in the East?
The Bulls?
The Pacers?
The Celtics?

Being 5th in playoffs scoring per game but getting to accumulate games by owning a bad conference does not make you the greatest.

Nice post.

It made me wonder why such a simple stat such as plus/minus is not elaborated on in hoops. But then I found the answer.

The whole league is based off the individual player. The plus/minus is tagged individually, but also dependent on the surrounding players. So while it's easy and impressive to list Bron Bron with 34pts 14 rebounds 11 assists and build an individual star (to the leagues uber appreciation) when the -33 is juxtaposed against it the star power fades significantly. League HQ does not like that.

Sweep that stat under the rug press corps. Kthnxbye. Commish.
