lmao abot the timing thing. Go back a few days. Really.

lol look at you all giddy at the prospect of this somehow tearing the pats apart - have you paid no attention to this team and how it handles controversy over the last 20 years:shrug:

You're a hot mess. This is a breaking story so let's see what happens. Maybe AB recorded some of the phone calls where he was being extorted.. who knows? Maybe he has texts of her telling her mama it's a money grab. Give it a day or two.

This story is bigger than football. There are serious accusations being leveled here. Two of them.

I despise rapists. I also despise people who use a false accusation of rape to extort a wealthy individual... because they can. I'm not sure which one we have here. But I believe we'll find out soon enough.

But getting to the football side, the worst thing he's done before this is have an over inflated ego, not uncommon in modern day wide receivers. Bill knew that and still brought him in here. That tell's me something.

Personally, I think the Pat's lockerroom is strong enough to handle the AB show. Obviously you disagree. But I don't see the need for a "rush to judgement" to condemn a man who may be a victim here, just for the sake of another shot at a title.

I hope the Patriots measure twice, and "cut" once, but only if a preponderance of the evidence swings heavily in her favor. But whether AB is ultimately cut or not, I think the Pats will be fine.

Bravo

Why did she keep coming back if she was raped? Call me skeptical.

More and more will come out over time. Too bad this is on the Patriots' watch. One more effing thing...
This is a situation that goodell could actually help the Pats by putting Brown on his exempt list until more is known. If I'm BB or Kraft I'm looking for more info and at the same time I'm looking for a way out of this since this is all new to them. On the face of it, it does look suspiciously like a money grab/extortion on many levels. I'm curious if Rosenhaus knew any of this could be coming. If so, he's a dipshit snake.

One more thing for the Patriots to endure and no one would blame the Pats if they used conduct detrimental as a way out. Perhaps an indefinite suspension by the Pats unless goodell puts him on the exempt list. I can't see BB allowing his nuclear act on the practice field without knowing a lot more of what's going on. Good thing the Dolphins are next.

The texts below show Brown is angry and accusing her of a money grab. Why is she using this as part of her case against Brown? Seems to me it hurts her case (but I know nothing about the law). Many questions about it and for me this makes Brown too hot to handle til more is known.

Response from AB's reps

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...ship-with-accuser-calls-lawsuit-a-money-grab/

On the same day he became a member of the Patriots, receiver Antonio Brown has been sued for sexual assault and rape.

Brown’s lawyer, Darren Heitner, has issued a detailed statement that admits to the existence of a sexual relationship between Brown and the plaintiff, Britney Taylor, but denies any wrongdoing on Brown’s behalf. The lawyer’s statement calls the lawsuit a “money grab.”

“He will pursue all legal remedies to not only clear his name, but also to protect other professional athletes against false accusations,” Heitner vows.

In the statement, Heitner characterizes Taylor as someone who was looking for funding from Brown to launch a business project. She allegedly sought $1.6 million.

“When Mr. Brown refused to make the $1.6 million ‘investment,’ the accuser supposedly cut off communication with Mr. Brown,” Heitner contends. “However, in 2018, the accuser resurfaced and offered to travel to Pennsylvania and South Florida to train Mr. Brown for the upcoming season. Thereafter, the accuser engaged Mr. Brown in a consensual personal relationship. Any sexual interaction with Mr. Brown was entirely consensual.”

Heitner claims that the relationship continued after the alleged rape in May 2018.

“Mr. Brown’s accuser has continually posted photographs of Mr. Brown on her social media in an effort to financially benefit from his celebrity,” Heitner writes. “Mr. Brown, whose hard work and decision to his craft has allowed him to rise to the top of his profession, refuses to be the victim of what he believes to be a money grab.”

The statement narrows the focus of much of the looming legal fight to the credibility of Brown and Taylor, since it’s clear that they knew each other and had a personal relationship. While third-party witnesses and circumstantial evidence may tip the scales one way or the other, this one will (barring a settlement) boil down to whether a jury believes him or believes her.

While that may not be enough to ever secure a conviction in criminal court, it’s more than enough to satisfy the much lower burden of proof in civil cases.

The big tell for AB's status will come this afternoon. If he's not practicing, then he won't be playing for a while if at all. If he's there, the team is willing to let it play out in the courts.

Perhaps, but if he pays it, he's considered guilty and the money demands will keep coming in.

Too late now anyway. Surely she must have told him, directly or indirectly, that a suit was a possibility if he didn't pay up. He obviously didn't think she'd go through with it. Hopefully he can retrieve any texts that would help him.

Agree. But the situation could change in an instant.

The first thing is when the story broke. So this happened in 2018, and the day he signs with the pats the story breaks that he is being sued for rape. Yeah right. It seems odd that no criminal charges have been filed, because I know the laws in some states someone does not have to press charges you can still be arrested for things like rape.
why didn't it pop up when he signed the bigger contract with Oakland?

take off the rose colored glasses.

And I will wait this out to see what the findings are but I am not happy this tool put himself into this mess.

also a link to her bio where it claims she is a former Patriots employee as trainer - this shit is going to really stick here. link

Not sure how much information in that link is accurate. We'll find out quickly if she used to work for the Pats. It also claims she told the police, but there's no reports to support that at this time.

You cant suspend a player just like that imo. What if someone accuses Brady of rape a week before the SB? There needs to be more than just an accusation.

LOL. The writing used in that self serving bio is an assault on the English language. It was hastily put up for sure but for what purpose? Why announce that "Still, she deleted her Facebook and Instagram accounts"? Was there self-incriminating evidence against her in all those photos of her and AB consensually together?

After reading that 'bio' I think her badly thought out plan will be outed rather easily.

It's a locker room distraction right?

hey maybe I am giddy,

No. After all, it happened on the Steelers' watch, right?

This is bad. If it's a money grab, he will still have this stain of accusation as it will unlikely ever end with her shrugging her shoulders and saying, yeah, it was about the money. It will be he said she said and because Brown is now with the Patriots, he is going to be savaged by the wider media and fan bases and you know, Kraft will be brought into this and all of a sudden the Patriots are being labelled as a hostile, misogynist organisation.

None of this ends well for the Patriots. If he's innocent, others won't care and the label will stick and if he's guilty, he'll be gone.

The only way the Patriots could possibly come out of this well now is if they cut him straight away. That in itself is a terrible thing to say as it's supposing guilt when no case has been heard and no evidence produced. But this will not end well for NE in any other way. Goodell is going to place him on the exempt list anyway and if NE do this, they will actually get huge credit and really make the Chiefs and Cowboys look terrible.

I'm afraid, this is the world we live in. The timing of this has to wake people up and surely show them this is highly suspicious. But the majority won't care, the Pitchforks are drawn.

You care what other people think.

Alert: They already hate you. You’re not putting that toothpaste back in the tube. For decades.

There’s plenty of ways this ends just fine. Over the next couple of weeks info comes out proving there was a consensual maintained relationship and this latter stage was strictly a fabricated event created for a financial gain.

Brown acclimates to the team and tows the line. We win Lombardi 7.

I can enjoy that.

Fuck what fans in Miami, Houston, Phillie, et al think.

He should be suspended just for that spelling.
