Week 14 - Queefs @ Pats, Sun 12/8 4:25PM

As an official, I just can't understand how you don't let that play out. It will be automatically reviewed and you'll be bailed out on the call, regardless.

Sometimes reviews don't provide conclusive evidence and you have to go with the call on the field, so I don't blame them for """""trying""""" to get the initial call right.

The more maddening part for me is the restricted amount of challenges. You knew the Patriots were in trouble when they had no challenges for the entire 4th quarter. If the league isn't willing to hire more competent officiating, the least they could do is allow for more coach's challenges cuz these refs are guaranteed to screw up more than 2-3 times per game. IMO as long as you have timeouts you should be allowed to challenge.

Too bad Pats under BB averaged more than the Chiefs.

Chiefs haven't beaten the Pats in over 5 years. FIVE YEARS!!!! And never with Mahomes. You got like 3 guys left who were on the last team to beat the Pats.

You'll never have a better chance than this weekend. Lose this weekend and STFU forever.

OK

Actually TWICE in 5 years now AT FOXBOROUGH

Do it in the playoffs, that's when it will matter.

It's coming. I'd love nothing better than a rematch.

I gotta say, the most enjoyable part of the whole game was the crowd booing the Patriots as they left the field at half time.

I was laughing so hard.

Why aren’t we seeing this?

The D would have to go run heavy to respect the rush. Edelman already gets seperation so you could put another player that has difficulty getting seperation in motion.

I have a feeling that something like that is being deliberately held back until the playoffs.

I can't figure this out otherwise. A professional team that has been together since camp, yes with multiple injuries etc, but with that coaching and led by the GOAT QB cannot be this bad. It doesn't add up.

It might be wishful thinking and other fanbases would laugh at it, but something is up. I think they'll be throwing packages like 4 RB sets and multiple trick plays come the playoffs. They knew the offense would be seriously hampered in TC so the idea they don't have something planned is very improbable imho.

That's what happens when you have the privilege of holding your team to the highest standard possible.

Chiefs fans would know nothing about this.

Or just go to the system college uses because it makes sense. The booth reviews every play and stops play when further review is warranted.

As much as I dislike complaining about the officiating, the missed calls on the PI and TD were horrendous and just as bad as the missed PI call against the Saints last year.

One other thing, I don't understand the complaining about Folk and not letting him kick field goals earlier in the game, that blocked attempt wasn't on him, it was on the lineman not blocking the defender.

Oh and that run by TFB was epic, I just wish he'd do that a bit more often.

I saw some Steelers fans tweeting that the ball to Dorsett was not catchable. They said that Brady threw it so far behind him that the ref couldn't call PI. Must be nice to live in a different version of reality.

I just don't get how the officials could have missed those 2 plays, I mean, the defender was all over Dorsett before the ball got there and Harry wasn't even close to being out of bounds, i've seen plays that were a lot closer to out of bounds called a good catch compared to Harry's catch.

I think BB needs to take a little heat for wasting that challenge on a call we knew wasn't going to get overturned, we keep that challenge and the Pats more likely win that game.

He was correct on the challenge. It was another complete fuck up by the refs. The replay showed clear evidence that the ball was a full yard short of where they marked it. BB should have won the challenge and the ball should have been moved back to the 39.

Someone was trying to convince me that BB challenged the OPI on Kelce there and not the spot. I thought the entire play would be reviewed.

Am I wrong?

You are not wrong. Both can be reviewed. Romo pointed out that it was really smart of BB to ask them to review both the spot and the PI.

It was 4th and 2 all over again.

Kelsey did back his ass into 24...but (t), they gave the other guy extra length for a 1st down. Both of those things were BS...yet the corrupt af ref did neither.

I'll be honest. I don't feel as bad after this loss as I did after the Ravens and Texans games. This team could have won this game. Mahomes did dick in the second half. The adjustments with Jules on the outside and running sweeps should have been used more but it wasn't. (Maybe BB saving it for another day?)

That said, I think they need to win out, secure the #2 and see what happens.

The Chiefs were the better team yesterday. Still, the Patriots didn't give up. That's a commendable quality.

The team needs to get over it. Will it be easy? Maybe not. We (the Patriots) still have a lot of control over our destiny. And it's not like they lost to a bunch of ham and eggers. The Chiefs are a very good team.

I thought the running game would be improved by yesterday. It wasn't good.

How the hell did they turn it around, late last season? They did have Gronk helping on the blocking game; Devlin and Andrews were big sparks on offense.

And yet, I'll take my chances with this team. They started okay, but the blocking was awful again. What a weird game.

p.s., I didn't wear my best jersey during the game (Gino Cappelletti). It's the 'gotta have this game' jersey for me! The one where, after a game's over, and the Pats win, I say 'Gino, we did it again'. I didn't even wear my other jersey (Steve Grogan). Maybe subconsciously, I figured it wasn't a big game. But I always wear one of those jerseys!

Maybe yesterday just wasn't a big game. We still have the second seed. Nice!
