What Concerts Have You Been To?

Super envious, he is still my favorite blues guitarist to this day. I had a buddy that had over 800 blues cd's and he worshiped SRV (he was from Texas too) to the point of obsession and he literally cried the day he died. Would have loved to have seen him in his early days.

He was tremendous. And, the show was in a small blues bar... early in his career.

I forgot Joe Cocker on my list, I sorta saw him, before he got too shitfaced after a couple songs, projectile vomited everywhere and got dragged off the stage.

A lot of shows in 40 years.

In my teens.
The Cars (1980 first show)
Riot
Scorpions
Rainbow
J. Geils
Bryan Adams
Triumph
Foghat
Sammy Hagar
Aerosmith
Journey
ZZ Top
Jack Bruce

In my 50's
Queens of the Stone Age
Rush (final tour)
Jason Aldean
Kid Rock
Garth Brooks
Lita Ford
Primus
Mastadon
Ghost (most recent)

I have to add J Geils to my list, that show was more like a party and they had everyone dancing and singing along to all their songs. That was an excellent show!

Arena? I saw Manson (Mechanical Animals) there with Hole and Monster Magnet. Numerous protestors outside. A dew right in front of me purposely falls down to the floor and shoots up heroin with his gf helping him. That was...weird.

Really good concert. Manson is always very loud. That was in his Bowie stage. John 5 was the guitarist. That dew can rip...he plays with Rob Zombie now.

I don't like Courtney Love, but, she showed her tits...that might be her best attributes. :coffee:

Back when I when to concerts there it was called the Spokane Coliseum, this was in the very early 80's, I was stationed near there for over 7 years.

The ruled for a while.

Now? I listen to some and can’t see it. Some songs still hold their own. But overall? Meh.

The '08 reunion tour was the first show I took Jr to. They were awesome, was their first tour together in almost 25 years.

Elvis Costello at a college bar after his performance at the University. That was cool.
Then 30+ years later at intimate downtown San Diego venue all by himself with like 6 guitars and several hats.

Cool...

After SRV played on Let's Dance (David Bowie), his career took off. His brother is also good too.

The Pogues with Shame so shitto they had to walk him to the mic, let him mumble, then take him off stage for a song and bring him back for a song, repeat, lather, rinse, repeat - I walked away, it was the saddest thing I ever saw. he was a mess and I couldn't watch.

I saw Elvis Costello several times but once with the Brodsky Quartet at Boston Symphony Hall - amazing.

Just an anecdote on the Joe Cocker puking show. Fast forward 25 years. I’m sitting around a campfire and my brother in law starts recounting the same
show I went to. Long before we met. But we had a good chuckle reminiscing.

Todd Rundgren opening for Sammy Hagar early 80's. (Or maybe it was the other way around, fuzzy now)

Trampoline involved.

Edit: Comedy don't count but Rodney Dangerfield was so damn funny. He destroyed the place with one line: "We were poor, very poor, never got much for Christmas.. the only time we had tinsel on the tree was when Granpa sneezed".
I swear everyone in the place fell on the floor. It was bedlam, everyone howled for 5 minutes, he had to stop until we all calmed down. God what a night.
