Random Thoughts

FOR ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD REASON, except for the fact that we all need some laughs after these many wretched months, here was Steve Martin's big breakthrough appearance in 1974 on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson." It's almost as hilarious as Johnny's sports jacket. (Ahhh, the Seventies....)

He called my town the "armpit of America" once in the 70's or 80's. They flew him back, did some things (I think one was take him through a new car wash) and he made some statement that it wasn't the armpit of America.

I'm pretty sure he meant that it was somewhere around south/eastern Colorado or south/western Kansas. I've never been anywhere as bad as that general vicinity.

Brilliant and I remember an independent foreign film by this name playing at the small independent theater where I saw "Ayn Rand: A Sense Of Life" Back in the 90's in Cambridge, MA.

I'm so glad my daughters preschool class has a private facebook group that they post pictures to.

OK, I can say why I would like that I guess, but why do you? Was that sarcasm?

I like it, I see pictures of her playing, learning, etc. Last year, when they were still in class before covid, the only time I see pictures was when the school posted a select few from all classes once a week.

Oh, supercool. Yeah, my BFF's grandkids have me in a group with them, closely monitored by the parents, her daughters and their husbands, and it's brilliant and makes me smile everytime they video chat me. :)

I was awakened by the sweetest "wild man" little boy video chatting me, my little bro, Liam Jo's 5 year old grandson and I get along amazing. He has to call me every morning and just before he goes to bed. Awwww. I don't have shit for family really and Felicia, Jo's beautiful, smart and utterly capable 30 year old daughter really loves me and has welcomed me with open arms into her family and it feels so damn good partially cuz a couple in Jo's family can't stand me. But mostly because I love these guys. What a beautiful way to start a day.

Coworkers son passed out at school so an 8 hour work day turned into a 12 hour work day. Wasn't doing anything and I would expect other coworkers to jump in for me if I had to leave.

An now I am getting 8 more hours of overtime on Thursday due to another coworkers family members funeral. Then next week I get 11 hours of overtime plus holiday pay (25 an hour)

Jo is starting a new job tonight as a caregiver in a wonderful assisted living home in an old NE farmhouse tonight. She’s really excited to get to get back to work after a number of months and this is up her alley. I mean what the hell, she takes care of my dumbass. :) But she’s nervous so please send her some positive vibes or energy. She truly is amazing.

My wife and mother in law are nurses in a hospital, one even treats covid patients. As long as they have proper PPE, she should be fine.

The SpaceX launch that took 4 astronauts to the ISS in the epic Dragon capsule on the power and majesty that is the Falcon 9 rocket..

Brilliant!

Totally had a juice box tonight with dinner. Don't think we had these when I grew up but I felt like my step-daughter when she was 3. LOL.
