2020 - Playoff Thread

It's a bit early, but we can track movements up and down the likely fixtures week by week.

If the season ended now, this is what we'd get with the new 7 teams per conference format. Only 1st seed gets the bye. Some intriguing matchups, in the AFC I think our Buffalo pals would be a bit nervous going up against the Browns. Which is some statement to make.

My ex-GF IM'd (PM'd?? DM'd??) me last night and said the whole city of Buffalo was partying after the game. If they win next week - and the weather permits - I'll be driving home for the Superbowl! No way I'm gonna watch that game in Shithole, HELLinois!

The Ratbirds need to develop a dependable passing game. Jackson reverts to sandlot mechanics when under pressure. He's dynamic, but can't dependably deliver the rock in a big game. I don't know if that can be fixed.

Very happy for the Bills. That was a gritty win in tough conditions won on the strength of their defense. That is how chips are won. When one unit is struggling, the other one picks it up. I really hope we get a Bills/Browns AFCCG. That would be epic. I would not care who won as both teams have been mired in losing for so long.

That would be Amazing best would sum up this past year. 2 teams that been jokes for decades are in championship game.

I gotta say that awful performance by the Rams def really really surprised me.

I’m not sure if I’m ready to give credit to the packers.

Packers are going to the Super Bowl. They are far above any other team in the NFC. I really doubt Brees can be effective in the cold. Brady might fare better, but he would have to put forth a great performance and still hope his defense does its job.

Maybe so, but you have to credit Buffalo for bringing that pressure and hemming him in pretty well for the most part.

Also, it was amazing to me that we played Baltimore in mid-November and their backup center was one of the worst shotgun snappers I'd ever seen. Here we are two months later and that problem was definitely not solved. It was amazing to see how much that simple thing that is usually taken for granted screwed them up.

I thought Buffalo came out too aggressive on offense given the weather conditions, but their defense was excellent.

Also, everybody will be looking for the big names in free agency, but if Buffalo doesn't want to resign LB Matt Milano I'd be happy to take him off their hands.

it was even more hilarious that harbawl was a st coach and that unit was horrendous last night!🤣🤣🤣

i hope HipKat will chime in on what the backstory is behind Milano's pregame comments.

Huntley is an UDFA rookie and played at least as well as Lamar did, lol.

Lamar Jackson had 4 chances in the red zone which is a potential 28 points.
He led his team to 2 missed FGs, 1 made field goal and a disastrous interception.
28 points were within his grasp and he led the egg-sucking Ravens to minus -4 points.
Game, set, match.
Situational football.
Looking at the box score you'd figure the Ravens should have won by 10 pts easy. Except for Lamar's QBR of 56 and passer rating of 61.

Results matter. Lamar has played in 4 playoff games and he's won 1. (TBrady had 10 playoff wins before his first loss for comparison;)
His average QBR in the playoffs is 25. His average passer rating in the playoffs is 69.

The Ravens can have him. He's not the QB I'd like for my team.
I would think that maybe it's time for Greg Roman to move on. Ravens, if they want to get all they can from Jackson, probably should hire a OC that can utilize his limited skill set. Not that I'm going to complain if they stay status quo & make an early playoff exit every year.

Leslie Frazier put together an excellent game plan last night.

Milano was their best linebacker for a few years...he'll want to get paid $$$$. He good.

That's what I got out of it. Although it was a small cameo, I thought he looked good. He looked poised and didn't make many mistakes (other than the overthrow but the wind had to factor in, and panicking against a heavy blitz). Even the slightly overthrown pass to Andrews wasn't bad.
