Belichick on wanting to keep Brady

Again, you are missing the entire point. Brady wanted to stay. He was willing to go through the rebuild like he had back in 2009-2013. He wanted to finish his career as a Patriot. He had won six rings. His goal as he stated for years was to play until age 45. He did not want to go year to year anymore. He wanted a real contract. He had earned that. Bill did not want to give that to him nor did he have any viable replacement. It became personal for Bill which is unfortunate as he looks like an utter clown now with Brady coming in Sunday night as defending SB champion and SB MVP.

If you are asking me if we would have been a better team with Brady? Absolutely. We would not have been 7-9 last year and we would not be 1-2 this year staring at 1-3.
I'm only missing your point which is not reality based.

BB didn't want to keep Brady especially long term. Brady is already thinking about pulling a Mebron, while admitting he is very concerned about his image:

Belichick has stated that he did. He indicated that he would rather have Tom Brady than literally any other quarterback, and he indicated that he wanted Brady to stay in New England. Why should we trust you on Bill Belichick's opinion more than we trust Bill Belichick regarding his own opinion on Tom Brady?

Because one is telling the truth and the other is using the media to push a narrative.

BB walked from Brady. Only one side is speaking a lot.

So you're saying that Bill Belichick is using the media to push a narrative, while in the same breath claiming that he is not speaking a lot. Cmon man, have some intellectual consistency. Either he is talking and pushing a narrative or he isn't, not both.

You can't be telling "the truth" when you're speaking on someone else's opinion, unless you're claiming to be psychic. No one can see into another's mind or heart, and though we can think we know what they're thinking and feeling, and can guess at it, ultimately everything is just bullshit, based on both the arrogant presumption that they think like we do and feel as we would feel, as well as misguided confidence in our knowledge of their experiences and circumstances. I don't care who you've talked to or how much you think you know what "the truth" is as far as Belichick's opinion and feelings on this, but the reality is you are not an authority on that topic. Only Belichick can be.

So no, when he says Brady was offered a contract, and declined to take it, that he wanted Brady to stay on, and every move the team made was in an effort to make things as good as they could be for Tom Brady, but ultimately they weren't as good of an option as Tampa at that time, I will choose to believe him. You may choose not to, but unless you have an iota of actual evidence, and not simply 'my feelings' and 'my truth', please stop presenting your presumptions as "facts".

The adult version of this can see two conflicting points on this, both, being true from the respective viewpoints.

That is, Bill saying he wanted Brady to stay and Brady's camp (via his dad) saying the Patriots did not want him to say.

To flesh this out. Bill said he wanted Brady to stay, knows his value and wanted to make it happen and made an offer. Brady, listened to the offer and wanted more, either more money or a longer deal and wouldn't take it and walked away believing the deal offered reflected that the Patriots didn't want him as much as Brady thought or what eh thought he was worth.

Both sides can look at what happened very differently and probably have done.

Not sure if I believe BB...but, whateva.
He is doing some PR cover understandably. He can't say he didn't want Brady with Tom winning the SB and leading the league in passing TDs this year.

You do realize that TFB has an all star team around him now. That couldn't happen here and all the sane people here understand that.
Your post is an apples vs oranges post.

It does not change the perception. That is what you are failing to realize. Brady won in year one away from Bill, in a new conference going to a team that had not made the playoffs for 13 years. Sure they had talent. Lots of team have talent but they didn't know how to win and that is what Brady brought just like he did for 20 years here. What he showed was that Bill's system and culture were not necessary to win, in fact, they look antiquated and out of touch right now because Brady won a different way with the losingest franchise in NFL history. That is the narrative Bill is fighting against this week the best he can. It is like pushing a boulder up a mountain I am afraid.

It really isn't. Only a simpleton would come to that conclusion.

Are you listening out there at all? Bill is getting absolutely slaughtered. Now with Seth's book dropping in which Bill looks awful, the noise will be deafening.

After reading the excepts of Seth's book, I am amazed, stunned that Kraft was able to keep Brady playing for Bill. Even Kraft called him the biggest Ahole in his life. Imagine being his QB for 2 decades?

Mazz mazz mazz.....you have to stop this. This is a book that has no direct quotes or interviews from the three men in question. No direct links, no statements, no confirmations. All of it is hearsay from a swathe of unnamed sources.

Unless any of these three men steps forward and confirms that the accounts and claims in the book are true, the book is actually no use at all. Unnamed, unqualified sources can't be used as a definitive account.

Please. Seth published a very in-depth article back in 2018 that has proven to be largely true. There are huge bombs in this book if Bill or Kraft do not directly deny the quotes directly attributed to them then I am sorry, we can definitely take it as true.

Good god! That may be your all-time greatest ever quote!

Seth says Kraft called Bill an Ahole and an idiot savant. If I am Kraft, I am on twitter now denying that.

You guys are so duplicitous it is delicious. You know if this book was dropping bombs on Brady, there would be 5 threads on it! LOL
