Will Tom Brady Retire as a Patriot?

I don't understand all the hate towards TB from some of our members here, everyone knows that he came to Gillette to win this game, he wouldn't be TFB if he didn't. His play last night was reminiscent of a lot of his play in 2019 even though he has much better receivers to throw to now than he did back then. If not for the Bucs rushing defense I believe the Pats would have won last nights game quite easily.

Anyways, I was super impressed with Mac Jones play last night, while the pocket was collapsing around him he played with a lot of poise and focus and never got rattled, that's damned impressive for a rookie QB, I think the Pats are on their way back to becoming an elite team once again.
It’s not hate as far as I’m concerned. I like Brady and I definitely appreciate his time with the Patriots... its certain posters that are pretending to care about the Patriots but really are Brady fans mucking up the main forum hence the need for the a Brady forum.... this is the first and last post here.

Bingo.

Well, clearly I'm a bitter, old codger who just wants those damn kids off my lawn. Any idiot can see that.
Send 'em over to my lawn and you're in serious trouble, pal.

The small pocket of upset people, Midduy, is you, mazz, and a few small middy wannabe's who are here soley to wreck threads with tfb everywhere possible and point fingeers a t bill. You are such an

Well, you know what ? You know full well what an you are.

This is Patriots thread. Get lost.

You're as bad as Wickersham, worse in fact. You have no facts or evidence to support that claim/ None. And it's worse because the people who are accusing are telling you directly this is not the case. Umpteen posters here have spelt out why Brady had left a bad taste in their mouth. They are entitled to that opinion, it was messy the way he left and a lot of discussions has come from the Brady camp the past year that has annoyed a lot of Patriot fans. And of course there is the simple fact that he is no longer a Patriot, in the same way fans here did not cheer for Houston when Vince went there or for Welker when he was Denver, they ain't gonna start following the Bucs or following Brady. Why would they?

Your problem is you have zero objectivity on this at all, You will broach ZERO comments on Brady that are in any way deemed to be negative. It's ludicrous. Even Mazz conceded that Brady had a shitty attitude in 2019 which you yourself never admitted. You went missing at the start of last season when Cam and the team started well and then came back only when the team started losing. There was no sign of you during the game on Sunday when the Pats were putting it up to the Bucs, only when the game had been secured did you post.

Yesterday was a case in point in your lack of objectivity. Boomer Esiason made the point that at the same stage of their careers, Jones is the better QB. That is not saying Jones will be a better QB with a better legacy, nothing like it. It's a simple snapshot in time, right now in Mac's first pro games. It cannot be deemed in any way a controversial view.

You and Mazz could not accept this and waded in with blustering disbelief. When it was pointed out that there is a logic to saying Jones is better at this stage, as Jones is was drafted coming off a clearly better college career than Brady and was obviously a better QB in College, that too could not be tolerated and we had Mazz laughably trying to hint that Mac was not a better College player than Brady! Do you not see how nuts that is?

What a weird response.....It is absolutely normal to see how our new QB stacks up to the HOF QB we had previously at this early stage of Macs career. We chose a guy we are hoping to bring us success so it's to be expected to see how Mac looks compared to how Tom looked when he first came here. You know this.

stop comparing him to hall of famers,
Nobody is comparing him to a HOFer. Again, you willingly miss the point. Brady was not a HOFer when he first came here. THAT IS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING AT.

You have this weird fetish about Brady which I just don't understand.

Comparing Mac to any QB of the early '00s is silly IMO. What you have to do is compare him to the top QBs of the last 5 years. Right now he does not look like a top rookie of this era despite his high completion rate on mostly check down throws. His arm strength is very much lacking. We saw that on Sunday on the out ball that hung forever and should have been a pick six but the Tampa DB was a step too slow reacting to it.

The question as I see it is can we win scoring 20 points a game? So far we are 1-3 and all any of keep saying is how we should have won 2 of those games. The jury is still out and I certainly hope we have not seen Mac's ceiling yet but if his arm does not improve we are going to be a bottom third offense and that will not get it done in today's NFL.

I mean you get a like for just being able to weed your way through & understand his ridiculous bullshit.

Well if we expect to win scoring 20 points per game, that falls on the defense to hold a team to less. I guess it depends on if we can sustain long drives and chew chunks of clock to keep the defense fresh enough to perform at that level. Historically the Patriots have always looked "off" in September, the first 4 or 5 games, there is very little film footage to study so you're flying blind as to what the other team is going to run. October and November is when the Pats start to look a little crisper as far as play execution goes.

I do think things will improve as the season goes along assuming the injuries don't mount up.

Injuries are always a concern, absolutely. Sadly injuries are part of the game.
Odd number years are always bad for us for some reason.

I just know key players go down more often. Wynn has only played like 20 games total or something like that. I don't pay attention to odd years or even years, just too many injuries every year.
