Mac Jones Is Our QB1

Justin Fields just hobbled off the field and is replaced. Such a tough sport for rookies. I think David Andrews is right, Mac really is a tough little SOB.
And Trey Lance sucks, as does Zach Wilson, as suggested.

We got the right QB, that's for sure.

Best rookie QB? Since w

Sorry but it's not blasphemy to question B.B., and the decisions hes made over the last two years require it if you're a true fan. Don't ever tell me I'm not a fan because I question the great one because it won't be long before everyone is.
This is not the thread for this Mac Jones love him or hate him is our QB

Pretty sure I mentioned SD 2001 in the game thread.
Though in 2001, that was the Patriots offense playing out of their minds at the time. Although I think Hunter Henry and Terry Glenn had similar stats.

Also, that was Mac Jones 5th game as a pro. It was Brady's 21st. :coffee:
Well I like Hunter Henry, but let's not enshrine her so soon.

Cheers

Thing of beauty.
I know it could be worse with a different OC here, but I sometimes feel like McDaniels mentally twists himself into a playcalling pretzel. Look at him immediately talking to BB as if he's trying to split the atom.

It's football, dude. It's just not that complicated. Run, get open, hit the guy who is open at the right time. But, never trying to attack the end zone is just weird to me. Constant lateral plays instead of the vertical attack.

Good stuff you all put in here that are fans of our QB or just happy.

Sorry I did not post stuff yesterday to combat the crap. When I watch football I rarely log in since it is a faster pace game than baseball. If I log in I tend to lose track and start getting annoyed with some people so I tend to come the next day.

Mac had some issues, he isn't perfect since no one is. But he had glimmers where I went WOOHOO.

Seems like he's afraid to take the training wheels off, as if Mac were prone to making boneheaded decisions. Except Mac hasn't really done that yet at all.

These are absolutely incredible numbers,! Great find, Chev

I've been very pleased with Mac's performance, expecting him to make the mistakes all rookies make and learning from them. It's the speed at which he is improving that astounds me.

Personally, I don't see the need to hurry Mac along. He is already progressing almost too fast. I don't need an implosion or even a bit of backsliding because he isn't fully assimilating what he is learning before jumping to the next thing. I'd rather work the long haul. Plus he did throw a TD pass to Hunter. Announcer said Jones was looking for Meyers in the flat but when it wasn't there he went to hunter in the end zone. That lines up with what Kurt Warner said in his QB series. The general plan is to look at the deep options first and check down to closer ones, but near the goal line where the field is compressed to to the opposite.
