Mac Jones Is Our QB1

it's nice that the announcer credited the throw to davis mills... :coffee:
lol

Poor James Lofton. Another guy that somehow is in the HOF but people tell us Edelman shouldn't be. Hilarious. He's arguably had one of the more passive HOF careers of anyone in there along with Lynn Swann and guys like Jerome Bettis and Terrell Davis at skilled positions.

Don't get me wrong, a nice career with great consistency, but it makes me laugh how unmemorable his career actually was and how long it takes other guys to get in who had better careers.

This is my QB. Bloodied and battered but he led the team on his first 4th quarter comeback win.

That bloody jersey is a rite of passage for our QB, Mac Jones.

He's feeling a bit feisty lately. I think he's been frustrated that it isn't like it was at Alabama when he was putting up 40+ PPG and he is pushing the envelope, perhaps a bit
prematurely. I wonder if the TD ("fumble") wasn't overruled it would have changed the way that game played out. I certainly wasn't convinced based on the camera angles they
showed us that Harris didn't break the plane, but, despite a couple of overly-aggressive throws that could've been picked he was, again, really good and continues to show
us that he's coming along extremely well.

I'm thinking that as the season unfolds we are going to see some pretty good offensive shows with that kid leading the way. Despite a lot of mistakes I think we are gradually getting glimpses into what he and we could be before long.

As like with Stevenson in Week 1, it wasn't a fumble. I realize we shouldn't be seeing that on the regular, but the obnoxious not showing us a goal line angle to be able to overturn the call on the field, is a sneaky CBS production choice so they can screw the team they're going to screw, which is our team.

I find it odd that's clearly obvious that this is no evidence of a fumble by rule, yet somehow it's a fumble. It's unlikely the ball came out before the tip of the ball hit the chalk and it's beyond strange they show us goal line looks all the time to if the ball crosses, but didn't there. How does this happen? The NHL, MLB, they take a look at it and try to get it right. The NFL doesn't do it this way. They just bring on liar/cheater Steratore to be the voice of what 345 Park Ave wants. It's tiring.

Seems like he's afraid to take the training wheels off, as if Mac were prone to making boneheaded decisions. Except Mac hasn't really done that yet at all.
He does throw 3 balls a game that seem to be lock interceptions. I expect that to change, but if we're being honest in our assessment, he needs to learn to climb the pocket (actually better yesterday), and he needs to read linebackers much, much better. It's not easy, every QB has issues with it from time to time, but it's going to cost a game at some point if it doesn't get fixed.

That said, 3 screen passes from first and goal at the 9 is fucking inexcusable playcalling.

One of the best #2 WRs in history. :coffee:

I don't know, man. Kind of a soft, finesse WR who fizzled out at the end of his career with stints in LA and Buffalo. I'll take Art Monk, you can have Lofton. And, yes, I realize Monk fizzled out with the Jets and Eagles. I am just not sure anyone really remembers a big play Lofton made.

Odd. This actually makes me feel better that Mac Jones is my QB. Didn't Rex pick and stick with buttfumble Sanchez?

Rex Ryan: "The Patriots won't make the playoffs because they have a peashooter at quarterback. This team should've been beaten by the Houston Texans. When the ball travels down the field more than 15 yards [in the air], it's bad news for this guy. He's like Danny Wuerffel."

You know, I really thought he moved in and around the pocket pretty well yesterday. Even when he rolled out, he showed decent speed.

#2 receivers don't typically get in the Hall of Fame. Usually you have to be a game changer, and Lofton was just a deep threat guy, who got a lot of help from Sterling Sharpe and Andre Reed (number 1s for sure, and both should be in the Hall of Fame) Art Monk was a #1 WR, and I'd take him every day of the week over James Lofton.

Exactly. I mean, he was good, but he was sort of a deep route runner guy and a consistently good one at that. I just laugh at the Pats haters out there that claim Edelman isn't in the discussion as a WR and I say he absolutely is if a like Swann or Lofton are in the HOF. I mean, it's one thing to have upper level production for a long period of time, but there's other arguments to be made for Edelman.

5 years ago I'd just laugh at how people just refused to acknowledged he was a top 3-5 WR in the AFC. Brown, Hopkins, maybe AJ Green, but give me 11 Edelmans all day, everyday even over those guys.

Ultimate gamer and football player.

He's gotta be one of the dumbest and most jealous fans I've ever seen in my lifetime. He'll do anything to bag on BB in the role he's in. He has a tattoo of Sanchez on his arm for chrissakes.
