Were on to Dallas

I'm surprised by the line and will expect that a lot of early money goes down on Dallas.

I heard reports that Zeke Elliott and Amari Cooper both got banged up yesterday, but don't know if that is a big deal. I expect we'll be down Damien Harris
at least.

They've got a good QB and plenty of depth at the skills. Matter of fact, they have good personnel pretty much everywhere. The one thing I always
counted on in the past was poor coaching, but right now they seem to have it going on and don't have any glaring weaknesses.

Can we really get to .500 and beat these guys?

Agree.

That said I saw the dogshit Giants move up and down the field on that team yesterday, the vast majority of it without Saquon Barkley (talk about made of glass, holy crap).

They had a bad 1st half. I don't think that's representative of the quality of the secondary. Jackson, Mills and Jones are good. My concern is the energy level needed at the start of the game and throughout.

They had it in spades VS TB. Not so much yesterday when the whistle blew, which was my concern after the Brady game.
Agreed and nicely put. Hopefully they can find that motivation again next week. They will need it.

I don't think they'll be able to succeed doing the classic "take one thing away" Belichick move. This will take the discipline and execution of a December/January Patriots team. I think they have the horses on defense to make Dak's life very difficult, but I'm not sure they're "there yet." I do think Dak can be confused into misreads, but again, not sure of the maturity of the defense to execute those sorts of schemes. They did it against TB, but gave up the run to do it. We'd need Guy, Godcheaux, Davis to really turn the page and play the way they can play.

On the other side of the ball, Dallas can be scored upon, but they will have to focus on not losing possession. Can't afford many mistakes at all, least of all costly turnovers.

This one’s gonna be ugly. I’m just hoping for no injuries.

You must be a real fucking gem at a party. Please leave the fanbase already.
Actually, Riv is a pretty smart guy, but his Bill Belichick hatred seems to have gotten the better of him on the football side of things. A lot. A shit ton, even.

It's weird how a few folks were so impacted by TFB engineering his own walk away.

Anyone taking the anti-BB cheese via the anti-BB media is not very bright. It's mortifying that some of these people make up the fanbase. They're not really fans. They're bandwagoning frontrunners, which is embarrassing. That's for crap sports markets.

I hear ya.

It is a weird phenomena around these parts. It truly is just that some folks were Brady fans and not Patriot fans. So to them, Bill Belichick let their whole team walk away.

If you think about the mentality of someone who is devoted to a single player rather than their hometown team maybe you can make sense of it. I certainly can't.

It’s not hatred. I think BB is a fine coach in terms of his game planning. He may be the best defensive game planner ever in terms of prepping a team for a specific opponent.
I do however have a major problem with his personal decisions, and on field offensive play calling that’s happened under his watch since roughly 08 onward.
I was called a troll, and patriots hater all off-season for doubting his personal moves, specifically with regard to the tight ends.
There’s 20 million or more invested now per year at the position. Are y’all still going to call me crazy for doubting that investment?

Everyone is very sensitive about Brady. I try hard not to bring him up. It’s rare that I do unless responding to someone else, but I’ll say this. After ten years of being treated like a child and having to cover for awful person decisions by BB while taking reasonable contracts I don’t blame him at all if he wanted out. Gronk literally retired rather than play for him. That’s two people who are literally the best ever at their respective positions who said they would rather leave than be under BB.
Dallas is good. Their defense has improved and is better than most casual fans realize. Im not a troll to hope we get out of this one with no injuries.

Two things:

1- Everyone is NOT sensitive about Brady. For instance, I am not. I was happy to see him win last year (Gronk not so much).

2- 6 SB wins says BB knows how to build teams. You can't un-know this.

Obviously I've shown myself to not be a fan of your BB position, but this seems to be fair (and measured) comment.

I think the people who are sensitive about Brady are the same ones who can't admit he sucked in postseasons fromm 2007-2012 and still want that pinned on BB for some odd reason, even though BB isn't the one throwing awful INTs or standing in the "preferred" shotgun like a statue at the same spot 45 times a game, blowing leads, and stopping clocks with incompletions.

You mention "'08"........Might that be around the time of SB 42 when Brady had an awful 3 INT AFC Title game leading into that SB and then was cocky going into the SB, only to led the team to 14 points? I think it might be.

It seems like people like you have been brainwashed by the Globe, ESPN, 98.5, etc, that target people like you and then convince you something else has happened since Brady decided he wanted toys like Manning to produce stats like manning after helping win 3 SBs already to that point of his career. Brady is a smiley seemingly nice guy. BB is all business and doesn't smile much on your tv screen. There's your business model for these media outlets. Congrats. You've been had.

So, why aren't you more disappointed that BB allowed Brady's preferences to even occur and why aren't you holding Brady accountable like you are trying to do with BB? Why isn't the player who is held accountable if the players win the games? Hmm?

It's not a coincidence Brady improved in his postseasons from 2014-2018 when JimmyG was here. BB was working with JimmyG daily, where he'd never done that before except for Cassel in 2008 and Brady himself with Bledsoe standing right there watching it unfold in 2001. This is not a coincidence. It was Brady wanting it a certain way, BB catered to it to support his QB, it failed and BB wanted it changed back.

So, why don't you hold Brady himself accountable for his own actions and play on the field? Hmm?

As for your other comments, specificially about TE.....These players just got here. And it takes a long time to develop good TEs in this league. If BB had drafted 2 rookies to develop behind Asisai, you'd be the first in line whining about it.

Keep moving the goal posts, because that is what the Brady Fanboy does...Move the goalposts, forget what happened intentionally, and then pretend BB is a big meanie who ruined your life as a fan.

I got news for ya: There is no 2nd dynasty with the BB pick of JimmyG. No way. That ego and power control push by Brady to chase those stats had him standing like a statue in the shotgun like an idiot for 45 times a game (while throwing mindnumbingly AWFUL INTs), with no FB, no in line TE blocking, and him thinking he could do it all himself and get all the glory and attention. HE FAILED. BB gave him what he wanted and Brady failed. Big time. He underperformed in postseasons from 2007-2012.

BB called him on it, drafted JimmyG, worked with him daily and Brady go his butt back up under Center and became the old Brady again thanks to BB.

You can try to change facts and history all you want and move goalposts, but it won't work. It might work on 98.5 with those morons lying and misrepresenting everything to make money off a false narrative, but it won't work for those who know the facts and the truth just by paying attention.

BB's brilliant defensive gameplan a week ago Sunday also proves it's not just Brady. Brady was awful considering what were told about him embarrassing Bill and dropping 40+. Pfft. It's a microcosm of the truth. It wasn't all Brady like his fanboys claim.

I can't either. I am also in my mid 40s and understand economics and business.

I am not 10 years old and I don't see the sport through the eyes of a child.

My first post on your board. Longtime Cowboy fan. I'll start out by saying I know very little about your team as I've only watched the Tampon Bay game national telecast.

Lots of respect for BB though.

Thought I'd correct a few things. Michael Gallup is on IR and has been for 4 weeks (bruised calf ???WTH???). Played only partially in our first game. Also out is Dallas best DL in DeMarcus Lawrence the LDE. He's spent 4 weeks on IR (foot fracture).

Also saw where someone said the defense was mediocre or something like that. It's actually pretty bad. Pass defense especially. I can go into detail.

Dallas will start 3 rookies on the DL and Randy Gregory at RDE who has never played a complete season because of his love for the bong (not that there's anything wrong with that). They'll rotate in a couple of guys they picked up in FA at Home Depot in the middle (3 tech). Behind the DL is rookie MLB Parsons with Leighton Vander Esch whom I had heard BB was high on in the 2018 draft. Both SS and FS are new this year. With all that new blood on D then a new coordinator/system they are giving up lots of chunk plays. Dallas plays lots of 4-2-5.

Offense is balanced and obviously the strength of the team. Someone called Zeke's running mate a "scat back" but that's a misnomer. Tony Pollard is actually 215 lbs but does run better outside.

On Dak. He's matured quite a bit. Not easily confused (if anyone can though it would be BB). Runs through his progressions well. Has been one of the fastest in the League at getting the ball out. He's been blitzed A LOT !

I'll answer any questions or give insight if asked.

I was trying to be nice. The word "decent" was used and I think that's fair since it's a little early in the season, even if not so much anymore.

Pollard is very good and you're right, he's bigger than your typical scatback, but he's a scatback to me. He certainly moves like one. And your TE out of Stanford is good, and of course Elliott. My guess is we play plenty of man and attack your RBs downhill as much as possible and trust the Safeties and CBs out in man coverage, with the occasional zone where I think Dak can be had for an INT or two.

I do agree after seeing you outplay TB in Week 1, that the ball is out fast but I think the predictability and some patterns I've seen with how he's doing that may backfire a bit with Dak. Nothing personal, but Dak facing some of these other Def Coordinators and their gameplans may not be quite the same as what he'll deal with on Sunday.

But, nice post and I agree with your analysis as someone who doesn't know a ton about the Cowboys from afar.
