Random Thoughts

Just got back from vet . everything checks out ok. a little redness in one ear. he also thought he had a ventribular(?) event. gave me some ear drops and a multivitamin to make sure he isn't lacking something,
BTW my doggy loves going to the vet and the office loves him.
great!

Vestibular neuritis. Sort of like Bell's Palsy in kids but a different nerve. Both are generally self-limiting and patients improve with time.

I freaked out this morning. At 4 a.m. my doggy got up and was falling down and his head was listing and when he tried to walk he was wobbling. His eyes look different. I thought he was dying. One hour later he's back to his normal self... a nine year old pup who thinks he's two years old. Praising God
I feel you. Our dog turned 16 last month. He's slowing down quite a bit for most of the day, but he's still able to jump up and down from the couch, which is definitely good (Pomeranian).

This evening's random thought:

The poet's children live and love for all of eternity and we are all his children.

Think about this. Good perspective changer.

Immediately put me in a place of gratitude for this life I hold.

I originally took out a 20k loan on my car in 2017. As of today I owe 5k and got a month ahead without knowing. Plan is to pay 500 or so a month (normal payment is 308) for the next five months. Then if we get back what we think we will in taxes, pay it off in spring. Then sometime next year we will add a brand new suv with third row to the stable. My wife will drive my current car to work as she drives very few miles. I will drive her car to work as I drive 30 miles round trip just to work five days a week.

I got the oil change in her car done last week. Last did it in March of 2020, she hadn’t even hit the miles mark yet. It was only driven 2k in 19 months. She is the original owner also. 2009 Nissan Rogue (base) with only 75k miles. My only complaint is it is small and lacks luxury items like power seat. At least it has a good stereo and basic power things like locks, windows and mirrors.

Change her oil and filter every 12 months if she stays under 4-5k miles per year.

Walmart sells quality higher milage synthetics (Penzoil, M1, Castrol) for less that $23 for a 5 qt. jug. You probably know this already.

I do all of ours myself. The Accord and the Cooper get a shit ton of miles (commuters) so they are once a month. The others (JLU, older Chevy and X1) get much less so I do them at 3-4k miles. Unless it I really cold I enjoy doing them. When it is REALLY cold I just have Walmart do the change (with my filter) and then I check everything when I get it back. Always check the oil level after someone else does the change. For instance, our Wrangler (JLU) is a hybrid. The engine takes less oil than the long used and way more common Pentastar V6. Last winter I had to drain over a quart out when I got it home. They used the Pentastar spec I am sure...

Hard sell insurance peddlar flogging away on local radio stations under tag line " Just call Big Lou at 1 (800) - blabiddy blah blah."
Sorry. No way am I calling "Big F***ing Lou"

I plan on at most every 12 months but this got lost in the craziness in the last year and a half.

Just going by IP, they are not close.

I will be getting a new tool to identify alts that is separate from checking IPs. Had it on the old board and it let us identify some that used VPNs to hide.

But it's not the case here.

It isn't hard to hide now and if you are using Safari it will be REALLY easy to hide alts.

Now, if you were to collect MAC (not Apple Macs) addresses, that would be different. But then you are getting into a more involved sign up process that may keep some from joining...
