Are the Ravens the best team in the AFC?

Man, we have accomplished some serious AFC jinxing up in this thread. Excellent work, people!
Mazz led the way with the easily led media opinions to hype the soup jour teams that are supposedly so much better than NE. Happens every year at this time. If we lost 41-17 at home in October to say, Buffalo right now, I can only imagine what she'd be saying.

I figured she'd disappear from here after the 54-13 bludgeoning yesterday. Bad weekend for Mazz. haha

Man, you can be so obtuse it is amazing. I started the thread as a way to discuss the AFC contenders for the season hence the question mark in the thread title. The Ravens might be the team I can't stand the most in the AFC right along with the Steelers and Colts BUT unlike you, I can appreciate when teams are good and performing well. The AFC is stacked with a ton of 2 loss teams with the Bengals right now looking the part as the best team. I expect that to change after next weekend and the rest of the season. This thread is a way to discuss the AFC.

Please try to calm down just a bit and have a normal football discussion.

I think the Titans are the best team in the AFC. Bills, Ravens, Bengals, and Chargers all appear close behind, basically in a pack.
The Ravens have done pretty well at surviving a horrific plague of injuries; not sure how many of them are going to be back, or when.
I think the Raiders are pretend and will be exposed. They should get to 6-2 after their bye week, but could very easily be 8-6 or 7-7 after week 15.

Of the other teams worth talking about...
Browns may spiral, but are still talented.
Broncos are nothing worth talking about
Colts are useless - will likely get to 5-5, but only 1-3 wins the rest of the year
I don't think ANYONE wants to see the Patriots on their schedule right now. I think the Chargers game is very winnable, and if they take that one, look out: I'd expect them to have their mojo and win the following 3.

I think the 5 teams I mentioned first are close to playoff locks. Of the rest, I think the most likely to take the last 2 playoff spots are, in order, Raiders, Patriots, Browns, Colts, Broncos. I think the Patriots are the best of those teams, but the Raiders have a 2 loss cushion.

Look, I know you're a little embarrassed taking the early season media cheese, but it happens every year to people like you. I've stated weeks ago that there is no "best" team in the NFL. It doesn't exist.

The Lions just took the Rams to the hilt yesterday in LA.

So much can happen very quickly in this league even if you want to move the goalposts hyping every other AFC team every other week. Try to keep up.

My goodness. You really just don't get it.

Sweet backpedal. I get it very well. You're the anti-BB media's wet dream and now look foolish. The team is improving and other soup du jour AFC teams have stumbled. What will you do if NE beats LA this week?

lol

I don't think there is a best team in the AFC...the Tits secondary isn't good. There are a bunch of good teams, but, no clear #1.

It's kind of Rock/scissors/paper at the moment, where I think some teams in that cluster just match up well against certain others. I think the Titans are the most complete overall - their dbs are largely covered up by the pressure they can generate. But I don't think Tannehill is the guy. They could win with him, but the chances are good that they'll come up against a difference maker QB in the playoffs and they won't have a way to counter.

Tanny isn't very good. Agreed.

He's only "good" because of Derrick Henry. Take Henry off that team and he's mediocre.
Fantastic football insight. Did you read that on the interwebs?

Still embarrassed about your prediction of Baltimore being the best in the league after their crap D (who lost to Detroit) got waxed at home approaching Halloween, are we?

I would be to. You must be very new to following this league.

lol

"I think it is time to acknowledge that the Ratbirds have something special going on after their beat down of the Chargers yesterday. Are they the best team in the AFC? Lamar is playing his best football both throwing, running and leading that team."

No, no..It's not time to acknowledge.

^So afraid to hold herself accountable after making a fool of herself again.

Wouldn't it be easier to say "Whoops, I may have jumped the gun on that one...?"

You can't even admit when you're wrong in real time.
