You can bank on that. The media will never give the Patriots any recognition or awards for any substantial accomplishment. Dont'a Hightower has never even been to a Pro Bowl (even though he has 3 rings and a nickname of "Mr. February") and Saleh is up there yesterday calling overrated Moseley an "All Pro". It's just disgusting.

Heck, Seymour probably won't even get into the HOF again.

Pleasant, but not surprised. His combine #s were solid, and he showed this a couple times in the preseason. He can run well enough to take advantage of the defense leaving huge gaps.

I've often wondered about designing a QB delay draw where you flood one side of the field, climb the pocket, pump to hold defenders, and slip out to the empty side of the field...

We did QB designed run with Matt Cassel in 2008 except it was usually down themiddle. Receivers run out cuts and Matt threw or ran depending on whether or not defenders stayed behind.

Barmore is REALLY coming along. I confess he wasn't on my radar before teh draft, but when he was drafted I looked him up and wow. I was traveling and that week was in Saratoga Springs and didn't have my white board setup with me. Just my luck that the best draft we've had in a long time and I was least prepared.

With each passing week, the Pats’ rookie is breaking through the “ceiling” many built for him and making those who think he’ll be a career JAG look like fools.
Through the first seven weeks of the season, Jones is 16th out of 33 quarterbacks in expected points added+completion percentage over expected composite. According to CPOE, Mac is the seventh-most accurate quarterback in the league through Week 7 (also look at where all the other rookies are in the chart).

Jones is Pro Football Focus’s 12th-rated quarterback sandwiched between Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. He’s already a top-ten QB in clean pockets (90.8, ninth), which is a stable metric year-to-year since it’s the most common condition for a quarterback to throw a pass. And he has fewer turnover-worthy plays (8) than Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow.

If this is how good Mac is now, seven games into his first year in the league, then who’s to say how good Jones can be in the future with more experience in the NFL?

It's weird for me because while everybody was telling us that he would be average and that he had a low ceiling there was nothing that I saw (admittedly very untrained eye) that made me think he had a low ceiling. Everything he did at Alabama was successful. There wasn't an aspect of the game that showed up as less than stellar when I saw him.

The talking heads talked him down and it was a huge favor to the Patriots.

He is doing exactly what he did at Alabama at the next level.

Keep him upright because if they do, they won the QB battle again for the next 12 -15 years.

His transition has helped since his former and present coaches think alike. Plus, having former players from Bama being on the team with him has helped as well.

What people see on the field is what this house has been seeing for a few years while he was at Alabama. There has been little drop, if any, in how he does his approach, studies the film, practice and more. It is a bigger stage but he has the right mentality to play on this big stage.

I know I mentioned this before, but when we drafted him I hollered, whoop and just was giddy to the point I had to rewind the tv since I missed some things. His walk to the front I simply loved.

This is one of Lazar's better columns and I recommend folks click the link and watch the clips with their corresponding breakdowns. It's really well done and provides real
insight into a future star QB's development on-the-fly.

I also liked his line "Jones has begun to hunt" referring to one on one coverage on the wideouts. Seeing our outside skills reeling in long completions is one of the very
best indicators of an offense that is starting to find itself. In the last two weeks we've started to see defenses becoming more reluctant to stack the box and Mac is getting them off-balance
with quick and decisive fakes and accurate throws.

I believe that it's not just Dallas and the Jets, either. If we're not all the way there just yet we're getting closer to presenting big problems to any D we face. The improvement in
the offense is........hmmmmm.........somewhere between notable and stunning over the last 4 games and the reason it is happening is primarily because Mac Jones is already
getting himself dialed in.

Strap yourselves in, kids, it's going to be one hell of a fun ride.

Yeah i loved that too, and him saying he wanted to be a patriot all along. buuuuut...i'm a skeptic at heart so i looked at it like going on a first date and the guy is all opening the door for you etc. so you're smitten. then next month he's burping open mouthed at the table without saying, "excuse me"....
