Did Jones finish the season with 15 INT's? Is that your stance? 3rd worst in the NFL, garbage.
Did Brady set the all-time single-season passing record?
Kupp?
When are the ballots cast for MVP and Rookie of the Year?? Because Chase is still going and he's well over 1500 receiving yards already and at that rate he's going to shutout Jones in the voting. Does that fit your narrative?

Jones finished the regular season with 13 INTs, and threw two against BUF in the postseason, for a total of 15 including the postseason. What is in dispute with regard to this comment? Stafford has thrown 17 INTs. Josh Allen, Derek Carr, and Herbert threw 15 INTs. Joe Burrow, Mahomes, Tannehill have all thrown 14 INTs. Jimmy G. has thrown 13 INTs, and Brady has thrown 12. Claiming that Jones' 15 INTs is "garbage" doesn't hold up when evaluated in context of those around him. Anyone who would paint that as a terrible statistic relative to his peers very likely has an agenda. If you want to compare exclusively regular season statistics, then Jones' 13 INTs still holds up well against his peers.

Chase will not shutout Jones in ROY voting. Making such a claim likely indicates an agenda, or at the very least, interest in being dramatic and sensationalistic. Chase would be a perfectly deserving ROY candidate (so would Mac Jones) and he may win the award, but to claim he's going to "shutout" Jones, and the implication that Jones isn't worthy of consideration for the award, is nonsense. In your effort to discredit Jones and Belichick, you resort to disingenuous, sensationalized claims like the above. It's unfortunate because Patriots' fans should be encouraged by Jones' rookie season, yet some seem unable to feel that way. Even if one has hesitations/concerns about Jones (which is fair, he's only a rookie), no reasonable, thoughtful person would express those concerns in this manner.

If you don't think Jones is quite as good as the folks grading him think he is, fine. Thing is, this isn't really a thoughtful conversation about Jones at this point, but rather an angry, bitter exchange coming from someone with a clear agenda that is affecting objective/rational judgment. If I didn't know you from PatsFans I might give you the benefit of the doubt, but your schtick over there robbed you of any right to the benefit of the doubt here. You're (seemingly) attempting to act more reasonable here (at the moment) than you did over at PatsFans, but your pernicious agenda is still leaking through and I don't think it'll be long before you take the governor off and start letting your Belichick hate fly uninhibited.

For a guy who claims to be a Patriot fan, you sure seem to hate the team, and are especially critical of our brightest hope. 11th or 15th in the rankings, we're talking about ROOKIE QB being compared with veteran starting QBs. Why is this not a good thing? I don't expect him to win OROY, but if he did, why would that not make you happy? Why tepid? I don't get your stance. He's done far better than the four QB's pick ahead of him.

And why are you so belligerent? Lots of people come in here but none, not Hogfarmer, not Kool-Aid, no one, has come here with the chip-on-your-shoulder, fuck-all-of-you attitude you are presenting in every post. It almost seems like you are TRYING to get a timeout with the assclowns. You are fortunate I'm not a mod or you'd be there for the next month.

What does any of that have to do with the discussion about Spag's stats for Jones and PFF's grade for him?

Just admit your losses, dude.

It's not about me having an agenda. The regular season is OVER. Postseason stats do NOT count toward regular season stats. It only been that way for the past 100 YEARS!

You haven't read the entire exchange. I don't think Jones is getting shutout of the ROTY voting. I'll concede he may even win the thing, I really don't care. It's called hyperbole. I'm arguing with some dude who thinks regular season stats are still accumulating after the regular season has ended.

WTF?! Get over whatever your preconceived notions are about me. You don't know me. I have no idea who you are on this board or elsewhere. Stop trying to make me out to be some villain who's veil is slowly lifting... so melodramatic

Just defending my arguments. Not meaning to be belligerent. Don't consider that I have been either but you're entitled to your opinion.

For the record, I think Jones showed he's got some good promise for the future. He had the best season of any rookie quarterback for sure. But he started slow and finished poorly. Weeks 1-5 he had 5 TD's and 5 INT's. Weeks 6-12 he 11 TD's and 3 INT's. Weeks 13-18 he had 6 TD's and 5 INT's. I don't think he played well in the wild card game either when the outcome was still in question. The opening drive started out encouragingly enough, and he looked ready to go unlike most of his teammates, but he got robbed on that pick by Hyde (although the ball was slightly underthrown) and from there it was downhill until garbage time. I'll be excited for start of the 2022 season and I'm hopeful Jones will improve with experience and a better supporting cast. He'll need to elevate to pro bowl caliber play if the Patriots are to take the division back.

They're obvious extensions of your argument that there's no cutoff statistically between the regular season and postseason. My absurd questions were meant to prove your equally absurd premise.

I never ever said regular season stats continued to accumulate into the post season. Spags said it and you challenged his numbers.
I already told you if you have a problem with Spags or PFF you should argue with them.
Absurd questions as strawmen. Doesn't every normal person do that? None that I know or associate with.

Seriously?! Spags' numbers included the wild card game? He's a bigger fool than I thought. On what planet does it make any sense whatsoever to include postseason with regular season stats??? And then stack it up against quarterbacks who ARE NOT PLAYING ANYMORE? That's incredibly ridiculous.

By this twisted logic, Jones finished with 15 INT's which moves him up to 3rd most in the NFL. That sucks. Tom Brady has now set the all-time passing yards in a single season with 5587. Cooper Kupp has now set the receiving yards record too. You can toss out the "Jones finished just ahead of Mahomes" as well because he has possibly three games left which certainly will have him leapfrogging Jones (and others). This is all very fair and logical, right? At least according to Spags or anyone who wants to delude themselves with following his logic.

And I don't know what PFF is feeding into it's data base but if Jones is finishing ahead of Mahomes by any calculation then they need reconceive their methods.
Is this you Middy? :coffee:

If he did, then maybe that is because your writing style is so pompous that you come off like a hammy villain from Pro Wrestling.

Come to think of it, you sound just like Fixx did -- like a hybrid between Hannibal Lecter and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

Same style. Same basic baloney. The only difference is that the Crawhammer persona is supposed to be a "Patriots fan".

I give you another day, if that, so my advice would be to get it all out of your system now. It's been a hoot.

Is there anything we can do to return this to a normal Patriots Planet thread about Mac Jones.

Is a week or two in a time-out feasible?

PFF is a convoluted mess. Have you been on their website?

You were championing Spags' numbers like the gospel. Now you're dissociating from him like the plague. If you aren't contending that regular season stats accumulate into the postseason then there's nothing more to say.

Sure there is.

Mac Jones is our QB1.

Middy, Mazz and Mr. Mazz (aka crawbaby) are all the same poster.
They are not and it would be swell if people could move on and stop looking for them in every new member that has an unpopular opinion.

Honestly, of course they're not and I was remiss in not elaborating on my reasons for lumping them together. And, with all due respect, I wasn't implying that they should be lumped together for any reason other than this: their opinions are not intrinsically just "unpopular", they're virtually identical. Not one of them has introduced or offered an opinion that is creative, original, thought-provoking or intended to produce meaningful dialogue. It's all centered upon several tiresome, worn-out false premises: 1) Bill Belichick sucks as a coach and Tom Brady is responsible for all of the Patriot success from 2001-2019; 2) Mac Jones is already over-rated, has hit his ceiling and makes bad faces when things go badly; 3) the Patriots will never be good again because Belichick treated Brady, Dr. Quack aka Alex G. and the rest of Tompa Boy's posse poorly. Bottom line: Toni Mazz, Crawbaby and Inspector 50/Middie really only have one, common, overriding negative thing in common: they're all impossibly boring, bloodless drones.
