Is there a way that you could make it possible for a member to delete their account with this site.

I think all you need to do is PM one of them.

There's a probably a Mazz joke here but damned if I'm gonna make it. :coffee:

I thought I had answered you in PM on that, but looking back at the conversation, I didn't.

Deleting accounts is not something generally done, especially with an account with a lot of posting history. It can cause problems with deleting records out of the tables.

That being said, I am willing to work with you on another solution. I hate it when someone wants to delete, as I expressed in PM, but I want to make sure we are as accommodating as we can be.

What are you looking to accomplish with account deletion? We can change the user name, we can make forums so they don't appear on your account, we can go over all the settings so the board doesn't try and email you.

I just want my account and posting history deleted.

That sounds simple, but it's not. I will look into it, but my first priority is to not compromise the data integrity of the board.

Editing to add - I can change the user name to something that is non-identifying and if there are a few single posts that you want information removed from, that can be arranged. If that works, feel free to PM me the details.

How about if you said Beetlejuice 3 times?

Should've known the snide remarks would be coming. For just asking a simple question. Didn't think it would come from a mod.

I'm confused. Which mod made a snide comment? If something I said you interpreted as snide, it surely wasn't meant to be.

I really don't think anyone was trying to be snide. Given your request and the answer provided maybe this thread can be deleted and you and the clown can work it out in private.

You chose to put this on the open forum rather than handle it privately. What the hell did you expect?
UT is the admin and has offered to help you out. Muse as a moderator can't do as you requested. Her remark was in reply to my post. I was just doing a little humor with UT.
Don't know what your issues are,and it's none of my business. I hope that it's handled for you. You made your request, now perhaps you can ask that the open thread be closed.if you are that sensitive.

What did I expect,I dunno, maybe some common courtesy. I was just asking a question. Maybe thinking something could be changed about the site that would allow users the ability to delete their account if they so choose.
I guess courtesy and civility is too much to ask in this day and age.

Makes a request in a public forum, then is offered a reasonable solution, ignores, mild joking ensues, makes a mountain out of a dust mite dropping, then complains about courtesy and civility as if it's a one way street. Gotcha.

Show me where I wasn't being civil. I didn't ignore UT, I simply asked why it's not possible to delete my account. I don't want to be renamed I would rather just have my account deleted. I didn't think that was too much to ask.
