Looking At The Patriots 2022

I expect more from Agholor this year. As you can see, cutting him doesn't help much bc of his guarantees. I don't think this is in the Pats' plans.
Trading him helps more with the cap so a trade may be viable but who wants him?
I don't see him going anywhere unless a trade is done.

The Jets picked arguably the best WR and best CB in the draft, as well as another first round pick (forget who). Depending on the second year progression of Wilson and Jones, I can easily see the Bills in third place in the division this year.

I am genuinely curious what people saw last year with Wilson that makes them believe he is going to have a different career trajectory that other Jets QB's? He was way over his head last season. WAAAAAY.

When he came back from his injury, I thought he played better than prior. I mean he was abysmal prior. So I saw progression. Now how far will he improve this year? Hard to say but he has all the tools/talent to be great like Allen. Also the Jets have done a great job building out the offense/team. I disagree with Spacecrime that the Bills will drop to third. They are still the best team in the division by a lot and probably the best or second best team in the conference as I think Hill leaving the Chiefs changes the trajectory of that team significantly.

Jets are a wild card IMO depending on Wilson BUT you could be right. They had a great draft. I just don't see team surpassing the Bills. Bills could be the best team in the AFC right now.

Wasnt the udfa backup better than him?

Sure seemed like it. I keep hearing the folks on the SXM channel talking about the great Jump they expect from him in year two.

Quite frankly, he may be better because the team should be better, but I didn't see much from him last year and expect little in the way of top level play from him this year.

I saw nothing out of Wilson in college or since that remotely shows that he’s that talented or will be that great.

He was, but so are many rookie QBs who start as rookies. Mac Jones is an amazing rarity. Peyton Manning went 3-13 his rookie year. Joe Montana sucked his first year. Tom Brady didn't even play his rookie year. I think generally rookie QBs who hold a clipboard during games, and act as scout team QBs gete to ease into the NFL game. (Scout team QB is especially good. The rooks get to study the games of 13 different NFL QBs in order to imitate them.)

Wilson did play better after he came back. I was hoping (for his sake) the Jets would keep him out for the rest of the season. Who were the last two Jets rookie QBs? I liked Sam Darnold a lot and still think he'd do well with good caoching. Geno Smith and Mark Sanchez I thought were wastes before they were drafted. Any others? I really liked Pennington.

We'll see, but as I said, the Bills dynasty is likely to end with back-to-back division titles. I think the Jets will be a tougher out.

Bills are nowhere close to the best team in the AFC. Allen had a terrible rookie year as a starter, then did okay this second year and very good this third year. Last year was a lot of hype but the fact is the Bills were 11-6 in a division with two rookie QBs and Tua. If Wilson and Jones take sophomore leaps as Allen (and most QBs) did, the Bills are going nowhere in the AFCE, let alone the AFC.

Patriots and Jets. One a wild card and the other takes the division. Patriots took a wild card with a rookie QB. You can probably follow my rationale why I think the Pats will take the division.

I know draft day you called Jones an immobile dinosaur QB and a product of the Alabama team around him who he could never elevate a team on his own, but I think by next post season you will no longer think that.

ps Just took you (and everyone) off ignore and saw your sig line for the first time in a while. Surely you can find better testimonials for TFB than Emmitt Smith, Michael Irving, and Shannon Sharpe. It's embarrassing to pair those clowns in any way to Brady.

Ooops...

I almost responded to a post responding to TROLLMazz.

Almost, LOL.

He reminds me of Justin Beiber...not credible at all.

Who is Michael Irving?

Really????

Bills dominate Patriots 47-17

"The Bills scored touchdowns the first seven times they had the ball against a Patriots offense that had no clue how to stop a Bills attack led by quarterback Josh Allen. The result was a 47-17 Bills win that guarantees them at least one more playoff game.

The 47 points are the most that the Patriots have given up in any game since Bill Belichick became their head coach and the 30-point margin of victory is the second-biggest by any Patriots opponent during his time with the team"

Why would the Patriots offense be expected to have a clue about stopping the Bills' attack?

Oh my God. Youi and Mazz love to find one game and pretend it was representative of the whole season. The Bills DID NOT dominate the AFCE in 2021. Plain and simple.

Did you even read my post or simply stay with "Bills are greater that the Pats because that's my story and I'm sticking to it?"

That the Bills was the best team in the AFC was the post I replied to. I don't think the Bills are even the best in the AFCE was my response, based on last year. Not the last game, last year.

The Bills were 11-6.
THe Pats 10-7.
That isn't dominating. That is an unlucky game, a fumble crosssing the goal line late in the game, a doinked FG on the last play, a rookie getting schooled by a very good play of a very good DB late in the game. Whatever it is, it is not domination.

Bills play a weak AFCE division, against 2 rookie QBs and Tua, and still finished only one game ahead of the Pats, even with Jnes making some rookie mistakes, hitting the rookie wall and some extraordinary bad luck to end some games..
Mac Jones next year won't be a rookie. Unless you think he is going to do badly his second year, he'll be better.

What will Allen's next year be like? Who knows? Last year he fell back from 13-3 to 11-6. If he returns to 2020 form, the Bills will be competitive. Neither Josh Allen nor Mac Jones are gods. Either can stumble, but one thing I can say is that Josh Allen and the Bills DID NOT DOMINATE the AFCE last year, let alone the entire AFC

Read what I said about rookie QBs first year in the league and come up with your rationale why Mac Jones won't take a sophomore year jump.

The thing I really don't understand is, why are Patriots fans not happy ones? Why so glum, why so glass almost empty? This should be an exciting, anticipatory time for us. :shrug-n:

Watching the Pats/Titans game from last year. Actually, I need to go mow the lawn and I am wasting time because I don't want to do it.

AT ANY RATE, I am so looking forward to seeing the Patriots offense/play calling in someone else's hands this season. :D
