Boston Bruins hockey

It's crazy how momentum works in hockey, more than any other sport. Everything turned after that Coyle short hander and carried over into the next game. If the canes didn't blow that breakaway we could have had another swing. It's possible Lindholm is back for game 5, and McAvoy for game 6.

I agree the Coyle shortie was a sea change for the B's confidence. Game 4 revealed some Cane truths. They are a still a young team and start to show a lack of discipline after 2 games of abuse by the Bruins. The home run pass game they employ works until it doesn't. B's getting more adept at clogging the middle of the ice and boards to throw the Canes timing off and allow the forwards to get back to help. The Canes defense will also leave the front of their own net early to start the long pass plays and get caught out of position and have given the B's several good chances. The Bruins power play is working again. Some of Brind'Amour's challanges may have come from not respecting the B's PP and not caring if there was a DOG penalty. Bruin PP goals will slow that challenge option down. The Goaltender interference hoped for overturn on Debrusks goal for example. (btw it was your guy on the goalie right leg Rod, not Jake). Marchand's slump officialy over. He is white hot right now. 5 points? Debrusk has returned to the guy we all thought he was 4 seasons ago, scoring and involved. What a turn aroung his season has been, from wanting a trade to a new contract. Feel good about Chris Wagner. Bodies fly wherever he goes. It's best of 3 now. Now the Canes go home to see if they can re-spark their game. It sure as hell got snuffed out here.

Bruins had the line change advantage and the canes could not keep Staals line on Bergeron Marchand and Pasta. That will be a factor next game. Bruins need some greasy goals from the 3 and 4 lines. And expect some even it up penalties.

The new contract was to help trade him though, not because he wanted to stay, he still wants out. It must be Cassidy he has a problem with, it obviously hasn't affected him negatively, and he seems still be one of the boys on the team. He's been a complete pro about it, I will give him that.

Has he been? He never should have had his agent announce wanting a trade in the first place. I don't think he has a choice but to play hard. The lock room would never allow him to be a distraction. He's playing good. But I think he's an overly sensitive mama's boy. He's got it made in Boston. I hope they trade him to some team that sucks. So he can see how great he had it.

Yes he has. I had no problem with the trade request, and there was little chance of it ever being a distraction. I mean come on, he's not exactly in that tier of player where it would be. Bergy, Marchand, Pasta, Mac or even Hall requesting a trade would be a distraction. Makes me think he has an inflated opinion of himself quite honestly. Anyway that was the business side, on the ice it hasn't affected him or his teammates which is the definition of being a pro to me. They even got hot soon after that after being mediocre most of the season.

If anything I think it's inspired him to play better so another team will actually want him, because I doubt Sweeney's phone was ringing off the hook after the request.

Edit: Just wanted to add when I say he's been a pro about it I really mean post trade request. Whether the request itself was unprofessional in itself is arguable, but I think it's the only power a player has to try to force a trade.

McEvoy is in Carolina. He must have passed covid protocols. They flew him down on a private jet. That's huge news.

I've been hearing the Carolina side of the story since I'm in the state now. Definitely different. LOL

Matt Grzelcyk sucks. he's always on the ice when the team gives up goals:banghead:

They have to score the first goal Thursday. They can't keep playing from behind to start games.

agree they can't fall behind (at home or not). hopefully this plays out like the Cup win over Vancouver... home team wins until game 7.
Anything can happen in a game 7. lets hope they get that far.

This has been a strange series for sure, the home team has received the most PP's per game and has also won those games. I believe the B's will win tomorrow night but they are going to have to do something for game 7 because their current game plan isn't working, getting Bergeron away from Staal seems to work pretty good but it's hard to do that on their ice. Hopefully we'll have Hampus back for game 6 and they run Carolina out of the rink tomorrow night.
