So you don’t see Ty Montgomery sticking with the patriots? Or do you see him as a running back?
Ty Montgomery is basically a Bolden replacement and insurance policy in case James White isn't ready to go.

Didn't he practice with the WRs during the recent practices?Ty Montgomery is basically a Bolden replacement and insurance policy in case James White isn't ready to go.
I see him as an 'exclusive special teamer', although more Bolden than Slater, where he can provide depth if there's injury. So you don’t see Ty Montgomery sticking with the patriots? Or do you see him as a running back?
OK, that makes sense.I see him as an 'exclusive special teamer', although more Bolden than Slater, where he can provide depth if there's injury.
Pick 6 then you may have to drop another one before the rosters are set.
Mike already picked the top 5 in order so this should be a cakewalk.
For me as of right now the 6th will be up to Tre Nixon and Christian Wilkerson to decide during TC unless another good veteran is added between now and then.
One thing I know is that our WR room is a lot better than in the previous 2 years.

He's a dually, as far as WR/RB. He's done both. When he was on the Packers, he did it there too.Didn't he practice with the WRs during the recent practices?

I like his playful writing style.Man, I hope so but let's be honest. We don't know and won't know until 8 games into the season. That's how it is with all rookies even if they have all the athleticism in the world.
This team is full of players like Jack Jones who make us hopeful but have yet to show anything much less prove anything.
Here's an excellent article about the current state of the Patriots that pretty accurately spells out my own feelings.
Are the Patriots better now than they were in 2021?
After free agency and the draft, are the 2022 Patriots in a better spot than they were after their playoff loss in Buffalo?www.patspulpit.com
Lots of "worse" in that article especially as it relates to the defense which was the worst unit the last quarter of the season and in the playoffs. But to me the biggest "worse" is the coaching. That is what every fan would circle back to every season as that was always the biggest differentiator. That is gone now with the offensive changes and of course Stevie and Mayo. Also, did Bill make a move on STs or is the same guy back?Man, I hope so but let's be honest. We don't know and won't know until 8 games into the season. I'm just so fuuucking stunned! But to me the biggest "worse" is the coaching.

The other thing to consider is how much better the teams in the East are than the Pats at least on paper. Even the JETE are not going to push overs with the offseason they had.
Not sure what constitutes worse to this writer though? The team might have a worse record than last year but I expect Jones to be better and hopefully some of the FA receivers/TE from last year like Agahlor and Smith now that they have a seasons worth of experience. I don't think there is any question the defense will be worse as our LBs are not good and we lost Jackson from the secondary.

Sigh. I was specific to this upcoming season. Do you have counter thoughts? I mean it's pretty dead right now, woujd be good to have some debate up here. You know what my biggest "worst" is? When people repeat the same thing over and over.

Please do. The whole point of a message board is to share opinions and points of view.Running into my buddy's house for a while. I hope to remember to get back with a good argument which approaches as least most of the paintings numbers.

It's not even TC yet, my friend. All we've got is optimism right now.Man, I hope so but let's be honest. We don't know and won't know until 8 games into the season. That's how it is with all rookies even if they have all the athleticism in the world.

I guess I'm not detecting the "optimism" you mentioned. There's some of that here, but not alot, and virtually none in the media. It's not even TC yet, my friend. All we've got is optimism right now.
Last year at this time, it was Cam Newton at QB, and we thought Matt Judon might be pretty good, not the DPOY in the first half of 2021.
