Gronk retires....

I think we need to face it. Allied to Brady's extraordinary "retirement" statement with zero mention of the Patriots, this is not a coincidence. Both players have clearly been stewing in Florida, bitching to each other about Bill and the team and how they were "treated". Even when the Patriots issued a heartfelt statement when Tom retired from the game initially, the best they got was a brief, short thank you on Instagram. The same when Bill took the time after the Bucs-Pats game when he went into the Bucs locker room to spend time with Tom. He got a brief instant IG message saying 'I appreciate you coach'. This is the Tom Brady who can now not go to the toilet without posting about it.

I think it's a shitty attitude from a QB who nobody wanted and was taken 199 in the draft and a TE who no team was interested in with his injury issues and was taken 82nd. Both were brought into an outstanding team culture with the best coach in football history. They can kid each other that they would have been successful anywhere, but the facts don't lie. Be pissed off with Bill and be petty, be pissed off with RKK all you want. It's silly, but do it if it makes you feel good. But to not acknowledge the fans who were there week in and week out supporting you all the way? That's shitty. No other way of putting it.

RKK needs to think now about this. Forget sending the Patriots plane to bring them back for any ceremony. If they want the Red Jacket, fine, we'll go through that. But we would prefer to have players return here to be honoured who really want it. The Bruschi's, the Harrisons, Hannahs, Wilforks, Edelmans, McGinests, Lights etc
Their HOF speeches will be a blast!
Clearly you read my post off another forum. 🤣🤣🤣 But especially what I bolded. 😂😂😂😂

Not to be forgotten is that Gronk forced the trade to TB by coming out of retirement when the Pats were 9 mil short of cap space to pay him.

Good heavens. NE fans are the worst.

That's one of the things that Gronk forgot in the disrespect card. The Pats never let him go. They kept him and had he unretired prior to freeagency might have kept him. By his timing (postdraft) he made it impossible for the Pats to keep him. Also, his earlier comment that the Pats will sit players so they don't reach incentives when they fed him the ball one year until he made his.

But it's still hard to fault him. He never was all that mature. Just a big dope, and excited big galoof who is still a young teen at heart.

Brady is a different story IMO.

You must have forgotten when Bill threatened to trade him to Detroit ...

Yes indeed that is a bit overlooked but so is the context of the situation at the time.

Not calling you out solely here by any stretch.

As I mentioned the other day many of us, me included sometimes drop context as we pursue validation of our conclusions and that is kind of a key part of the breakdown of communication.

I've got good and big and some crappy things going on but I promise I will be back to talk about these things.

I know, I know. Baited breath and all that from you guys. 😅

I feel like you are giving him a pass. Nope. He has paid advisors and he himself has been smart enough to get people to think of him as you described above.

He isn't stupid.

Gronk was also upset by the way the patriots dealt with his injuries specifically back in 2012 with his forearm. He also had issues with his contract as well. This notion that he should just be thankful for his time with the patriots is myopic. And let’s not also forget that he was having a tremendous Super Bowl versus the Eagles ane he was just as angry as the rest of the offense of players that Malcom Butler was benched. I think we all need to realize that is pretty much when Bill lost both Brady and Gronk and things just got compounded from there.
