The years teach much which the days never know.
Now do IQ.
Now do IQ.
Mac is our QB1 and it appears he is determined to back defenses away from the short zones.
I've said it before, but when Tyquan gets back here he is going to change the way this team has been defended for the last 3 years plus.
Then, we are going to see the kid paint.
Good thing our QB1 is a spring chicken.
Yet his o-line is clearly out to get him kilt.Mac Jones has been sacked on only 3% of his drop backs. That's the fourth best mark in the NFL.
Currently re-watching the game from Sunday and Phil Simms made this observational comment: "Mac Jones goes through his reads as quickly as any QB in the NFL." It was clear he meant it as a compliment.
Mac Jones is a decent starting quarterback, one of the best the Patriots have had, since I started watching the Pats, in the early 1970's. He's had some good coaching, since he's been in the NFL (Belichick, etc). I'm trying to decide who's been the Patriots 2nd best qb, since I've been watching. The best is far above the rest. But 2nd best? It could be Grogan or Bledsoe. Mac Jones may become the 2nd best (or best, I guess). Plunkett had his good days, as a Patriots qb, but his coaching with the Pats probably wasn't the best. He did win two championships with the Raiders, in the early '80's.. Anyway, you'd have to have lived through the older days, to really know who was the best. Stats don't tell the whole story-pretty much all quarterbacks threw more interceptions, before the 90's, I guess. I think if the Patriots pick up some great receivers in the next few years, Mac Jones will improve (barring injury to him).
No love for Rohan Davey? Michael Bishop? Both were undefeated as starters, dontcha know...
But in all seriousness, where would Flutie fall? Behind those 5, but ahead of Eason?
