A Football Life - Edelman

Three fond memories early in his career:

  • His first punt return TD, 94 yards against Miami with about 5 jukes
  • When BB leaned over to Welker and talked about Gehrig and Pipp
  • When Edelman made about 5 jukes in the Ravens playoff game as a rookie to convert on 3rd and long, knew this kid was a keeper with competitive intangibles

A great slot guy plus a great TE, leading to 3 rings, is also why I don’t give 2 sh-ts about chasing risky vertical chunk yards. Just get a ton of first downs and control the clock. Edelman, Welker, even Troy Brown are all time Patriot greats who played a lot in the slot

Re: Pipp

The look on Welkers face! I still doubt he has even a clue about what Bill was referring to. He was always too short. WAY over his head.

Cheers

I LOVED it. I will love anything with him in it. What to make of the cryptic thing he said at the end when asked if he would return to playing? Thoughts? (I don't wanna specifically say what he said to avoid a spoiler for those who haven't had the pleasure of watching this yet)

What a hero he was. A genuine Rudy, but a Rudy who was also a great player!

About the end comments, I think this was made a while back and he also said that on Rich Eisen's show. I don't see it, he seems happy where he is now, but no doubt he misses playing.

I love the way his dad wore his Patriots polo shirt in the episode!

Thank you for the heads up, that this show was coming on. I saw it, and it was great. From his family and background, to his great days with Brady, and his comments about playing now, after Thanksgiving, when he said the real games start. Imagine him on the Patriots, now? If he's up to it.....

How lucky were we to have players like that? Jules, Tom, Gronk, Slates, Troy Brown, Welker, Rodney, Seymour, Wilfork, High, Willie, Teddy etc etc All coached by the GOAT. It will never be seen again.

Where do I find this? I am on the NFL Network but is is telling me 12/3. I know it came out 11/25.

I ended up watching it in 4 to 5 minute clips one after the other on YouTube. Great program. I really enjoyed the interaction between him and his dad and how that shaped him.
