The Patriots 2023 Off Season

Keenan McCardell? Interesting. I thought O'Connell was who called the plays.

Yes. But typically new OC hires came from positional coaching spots (QB, WR, TE, etc). Unless they come in lateral having already been an OC

Bill is clearly intent on interviewing a huge number of candidates, and this is a really good thing. The easy and lazy way would be to see a few and always have your mind on one guy and never be open to anyone else. Bill is putting the time in here and casting the net wide and that's great IMHO.

Please stop with the 30,000 ft view opinions on BOB at Alabama. I'm not getting into it because you have ZERO idea the problems BOB brought to the offense. BOB's "style" is geared more for the NFL and definitely not toward the college game. We were just fortunate to have pure talent at the QB position and WR position to pull his ass out of some of the worst playcalling we've had since Doug Nussmeier. BOB and Pete Golding can carry their ass for all Bama fans care. Stick to giving opinions about teams you actually know about.
Wow

Maybe. But why am I beginning to have doubts about BOB being the right guy?

He might not be the right guy. That said, I would NOT let the shear number of candidates the Pats are talking to to influence my thinking on this. This feels to m like the Pats have decided that there will be no investigations of their search and hiring processes.

"You want certain candidates? We got your certain candidates x 10."

Just my feel for it.

I can't see BB bringing in an inexperienced OC to follow up the mess of 2021. But, he did make the 2021 mess so anything is possible I guess.

Or BOB may have alternative plans which is ok with me.

Okay with me too (not that this matters to Bill, LOL). I just don't want to see a new OC that isn't highly experienced not only with the O but with the QB.

So far, none of the candidates announced fit that billing.

Bringing in extra candidates does not mean anything imo about sentiment towards BOB. I think it’s smart to improve the overall optics that the search was very comprehensive and didn’t just have any sort of minimum due to Rooney.
