Coaching Profile: Bill O’Brien Rejoins Patriots as OC

Hopkins doesn't love BOB though. He didn't like getting traded. I'll kiss that thought goodbye.
But I'm ok with BOB. If his players in Houston had liked him a little more I'd be great with this move.

see OP link it was littlefinger Jack Easterby who pushed Hopkins out not BOB

Brilliant.

Not only a fire bringing fight on the practice field, a full on, "Bring it ya little shit" get it straight confrontation, hug it out then go shoot for a championship.

My mom didn't even know who BoB was but when she saw that sideline tirade she forever called him a Jackass. 😂

Thank you for the Dorchester context.

Maybe a little Boondocks blood should be in order as well.

Greatness resides in all of it.

Freaking Irish.

😂

I'm sorry for the detour but I was just sitting here laughing my ass off at a memory I haven't thought about for years.

Knew this Irish national here in NH in the late 80s, Jim.

This cat had a great personality and was really fun to be around.

He kept getting deported and sneaking back in.

He was raising money and running guns for the IRA back home.

Me and my buddy Pete were 16 and tripping on acid all the time.

We worked for Jim building houses.

Can't remember how many times he said it but he'd take one look at us and say in that brilliant Irish accent, "Ahh, ya fucking assholes are fucked up again. Useless pricks".

😂 😂 😂

But he loved us. ♥

I don't know how or why I've come in contact with some that I have, but one hell of a ride it's been, truly.

Long strange trip indeed and I'm making the best of the best out if it.

Good or bad I'm guessing we won't see any more whining from Mac. Probably mentioned I'm sure but if BOB is willing to yell and scream at 3 time SB champ(at the time) Tom Brady on national TV, who knows what he'd do to Mac. BOB doesn't take shit from anybody, I do like that about him.

I feel like this is going to be an underrated part of the hiring. Patricia and Judge didn't have the cache to tell Jones to chill the fuck out.

I would also throw in that Jones probably quickly lost a lot of respect for both Patricia and Judge as offensive coaches. Granted, that is still no excuse for showing up a coach, but at the end of the day, everyone on the field are grown men not "kids", so men are going to "men" when they get frustrated. But when respect is lost, you start seeing things like what Mac stooped to. Again, I'm not advocating what he did, but my guess is the root of it was he didn't have any respect for them as offensive coaches. I highly doubt that will be the case with BOB.

This was clearly the case.

I am nervous about BOB and Mac getting along. BOB is a firey personality and I'm not sure Mac will be Ok with that for an entire season. If he yelled at BOB the way he did Patricia on the sideline, BOB will get up in his face and try to deck him.
This is bullshit, Mac had no issues with McDaniels because he was an actual offensive coordinator not jabbering moron that couldn't even get the play calls in on time. Mac had no issues with authority until Bill put his pet project in charge of Mac's career.

Nothing not to like about this, not even a little.

Except that we have a long wait to see the results, but not much you can do about that.
On to the draft.
Agreed, it's encouraging to see that corrections are being made.

Excellent.

There is no other way of spinning this. It's a bloody fantastic appointment. There's nothing bad or negative about this.

And BB is something for his age isn't he? The season is over a couple of weeks, and he went straight after BoB and got him and has interviewed loads of other candidates who he could well bring in as well like Klemm and, whilst doing this, sending his coaches to take top billing at the Shrine and Senior Bowls, he'll be putting up the miles as well going to the pro days, and in his spare time he'll be devouring reports and film on the Draft and looking at FA targets etc etc and doing the math on the current contracts....

Unreal.
