What Is The Last Movie You Saw

Saw the new Puss In Boots. If you are fan of the Shrek films, this is a solid flick. Been a long time since I watched an animated film in the theater and I am very glad I did.

I just watched Time Masters - an animated film designed by the French artist Jean Giraud, a.k.a. Moebius.

I have previously posted some of Giraud's work in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Art thread.

The director of the film was René Laloux. The film, dubbed in English, is available on YouTube:

It's European in origin, so its pacing and animation style may not align with American audiences who grew up with animated movies from Walt Disney and Don Bluth.

I was clued into this movie by this article:

I watched Interstellar last night. I liked it a lot, despite all the plot holes. Special effects were used only when needed, and were well-done. And the robots and their method of locomotion were an unexpected surprise.

Most of the actors were very solid, with a couple of exceptions. I think Matt Damon mailed it in, and Casey Affleck wasn't given much to do. Some of the dialog was a little stilted at times - Anne Hathaway's character had some lines that seemed forced to me. But McConaughey was stellar (ha ha) - and the various actresses playing Murph acquitted themselves nicely.

The science was fudged - the orbital dynamics was not credible, and Mrs. TR said the chemistry was not correct, either. I know Kip Thorne has stated that the science is possible, but not really plausible. I don't think it's plausible, as the tidal effects near a black hole's event horizon would rip anything macro-sized (like a human body or a spacecraft) to shreds.

But overall, a really good film, even though it checks in at almost 3 hours (2:47). The first third is a little bit of a drag, but after that the pace picks up and never lets go.

That movie depressed the hell out of me, had a really hard time watching it all the way through.

Just curious to know what depressed you about Interstellar OZO.

Watched "The Northman" the other night.

Pretty good, not great. I was happy to watch it on Netflix, if I paid to see it in a theater I might feel different.
I watched this because I had seen "The Witch" and liked it very much. I agree with your review. It fell just short of where I'd hoped it would land.

I grew up in the peak of the 1980's G.I. Joe craze. Arguably the coolest of all the G.I. Joe action figures was a commando named "Snake Eyes."

When I heard they were making an origin film of this particular character, I was pretty excited. Well... turns out they made a movie about a couple of ninjas, named one character Snake Eyes and the other Storm Shadow. This movie is one of the worst pieces of shit I've ever seen and, quite frankly, I'd like to speak to the manager.

Minority Report with Tom Cruise, kind of a strange movie but we liked it. I watched Beast while the wife was out with the girls the other night, a bit too hokey and unrealistic for my taste but it's cheap entertainment and I can think of worse ways to spend my evening.

Also went to the theater last week and saw 80 for Brady, it wasn't horrible and it made me laugh so money well spent. Also saw A Man called Otto a few weeks back, Tom Hanks just makes great movies and this is another one.

Really liked Minority Report.

I'll add A Man Called Otto to the ljst.

Until just recently, I worked for the company that helped produce that movie (and the toys). I apologize on their behalf for that dumpster fire.

Believe it or not, I had never seen Galaxy Quest, but I flip to netflix last night and there it was on "recommended for.... "
very funny and if by any chance you haven't seen it, I recommend it.

I've seen it I kid you not, about 30-40 times if not more. Family fav here. Hubby and I were just talking about some of the scenes this pass weekend.

We've been watching a lot of medieval movies lately, watched Outlaw King on Saturday and it was pretty good and kinda picked up where Braveheart left off, very violent times they were living in. Also watched Operation Finale last night, not a bad movie and I don't know how they managed to capture Adolph Eichmann without the use of firearms but they did it.
