We got JuJu!

Meyers was our leading WR. Juju was KC's #3 receiver.

The Pats targeted Juju and outbid KC to get him

I don’t think it’s a good thing.

Meyers proved he can produce going up against an opposing team’s #1 corner for 3 straight seasons. Double covered because nobody else was good. Meyers still gets production because his route running is that good and great hands.

JuJu’s highlights, he’s going up against the 3rd corner and sometimes wide open after a Mahomes scramble. When he wasn’t the #3 option he did not play well, he was actually pretty bad for a couple seasons. So this is not reassuring to get a guy who hasn’t proven he can succeed except against #3 cornerbacks

33 million. How much guaranteed?
3 years 25.5 mill base 16 mill guaranteed . Incentives could make it worth 33 mill . I like the signing . Adds a strong possession WR . We still need I need a #1 option . I would be happy with either OBJ or flowers/ Smith njigba in draft.

Everyone who I see liking this Ju Ju signing was defending Jonnu Smith right up until he was traded.
The blind in BB we trust syndrome in this forum is unreal.
Ju Ju is washed. This is a bad signing.

And getting Hopkins will not make up for this. He is old. The cardinals are smart to move on. He’s got at most a season of good games left as a true number one.

The pats are not contenders for a Super Bowl next season. We need young guys who can develop. Or at least be around for 5 years.
Meyers is the only WR drafted by this franchise in 12 years who was worth a damn and they let him walk to sign an overrated washed JAG. At least Meyers was homegrown.

Absolutely. Homers. Up until 12 hours ago were making up stuff about how maybe Meyers didn’t want to be here or chose elsewhere (see his own tweet). Or how the Pats want YAC (then why underuse Bourne and Jonnu).

This was not a net positive, it’s bringing Jakobi-like production with more volatile personality, less leadership, less durability/reliability, and also risk if JuJu can even pick up the playbook seamlessly.
The Pats just let one of their best homegrown , reliable, locker room leaders go. Following the losing Red Sox playbook now I see

JuJu is 26 FFS......

Here. In 2019 and 2020 JuJu couldn’t even beat out younger guys. Had poor yards per reception and did not emerge as a leader in a young WR corps. Jakobi produced despite having garbage around him and still getting catches against #1 receivers

GFY, Brady fan.

I wasn't all that sad to see Meyers go as I really don't think he's all that special. That being said, I am not thrilled that Juju is now a Patriot either.

I mean if we’re going to use arguments like this, then tell me why JuJu didn’t regress badly being a 8 yard per catch receiver in 2019 and 2020. Point is JuJu is a replacement but not a better WR than Meyers who was home grown and more reliable/dependable

You see......on the one hand, we have a head coach with decades in the business who has coached at the highest level and has multiple championships. And on the other hand we have some windbag on the internet.

Now, objectively, who should we trust more when it comes to running and building a football team?

Pre Mahomes his catch rate was:
53%, 75%, 60%, 66%.
So no, he does not have better hands than Meyers. And had 2 straight years averaging only 8 yards per catch which is terrible.

Both are not fast players. But Meyers was able to have the same yards per catch without the YAC. That’s not a bad thing. Meyers’ was also much more durable (probably related to the YAC topic)

Roethlisberger was his QB both of those year and they were with out question Roethlisberger's worst seasons over all. If you watched him those two seasons you would have seen how badly his game had become. Don't blame Juju for poor QB play.

Everyone is missing the biggest stat where Juju is better. TDs!! for God's sake.

29 in 6 years vs 8 in 4 for Jakobi.

They're very similar players but Juju gets open in the EZ.
What was our biggest issue on O last year? RZ production. He'll help that an awful lot.

Now we need our WR1.
You do know that the Chiefs don't hardly throw to anyone but Kelsey in the Red zone.

GFY, Brady fan.
This is exactly what you said when I said Jonnu was a a terrible signing.
Yes Ju Ju is 26, but his knees are 36. If ge makes it through training camp we have a problem at the position.
The chiefs score what 60, 70 TDs a year? Color me skeptical on his production there translating here.

Wow, you're a medical doctor as well as a documented NFL expert!
