Patriots Free Agency 2023

i'm a fan of the pats not having to defend him. he usually gets a few key plays vs. them.
Meh. Especially at what the contract is likely to cost, I can name at least 5 guys in this draft Is prefer over Gesicki.

Rams safety Taylor Rapp to visit Patriots today. I'm tempted to meh this news, but I don't know his game well enough. Former 2nd rounder, steady starter.

I'd feel good about Rapp from what I've seen. We need to find a Safety that can play single deep and I believe he is better than what we
have on the roster -- with an asterisk to Jonathan Jones because we're not sure if he can do it or not.

I'd rather keep Jones in the rotation at slot/corner and add a little different skill set at Safety. Rapp wouldn't be a wow signing, like Poyer, but
Rapp might fit well.

I think it's clear to see that Bill doesn't generally believe in wow FAs who require wow money to sign as a smart way to build a roster.

I'm not a fan of Gesicki's game personally, but I'm willing to be convinced if the price is reasonable.

We need the other Knight for this offense I think.

Pats to re-sign Mack Wilson, apparently?

Also, Myles Jack was just cut by Pittsburgh. He'd bring some instant athleticism to the LBs...

I think he's a good player, great tackler and box safety (Chung-like) without elite speed, but how many strong safeties does this team need? Dugger, Philips, Peppers already here. Can the team focus on gaping holes at certain positions instead of getting obsessed with spots where we are already set.

Rapp was a strong safety so are we looking at him for free safety? He's known for great tackling and being a box safety, he's not known for playing centerfield or for being really fast.

Agree. I don't really remember this player, is he the TE on the Dolphins? Not a great sign to me if a guy only averages 10 yards a catch, plus I remember when he gets targets in games, he's usually schemed wide open because defenses are covering Tyreek Hill and Waddle. I guess doesn't hurt to get him if he's dirt cheap. Otherwise don't overpay.

.

I see that the Pats signed James Robinson from Jacksonville, no idea who he is so is this a good signing or no?

From the Jets. Appears to be a multi-role RB that folks think can spell Mondre w/o giving up the run/pass play call.
