BB is up to his old tricks.

Gesicki signed a one-year contract worth $4.5 million with a $2.4M signing bonus and $3.55 in total guarantees. His $1.15M base salary in 2023 is fully guaranteed, and he has $50k per-game roster bonuses a $100k workout bonus.

The deal includes $4.5 million in playing time, receptions and receiving yards incentives.

Bridge for 1-2 drafted TEs. Maybe the weapon to scare people is a matchup nightmare TE forcing a particular coverage, allowing the different styles of WRs to dictate mismatches around the rest of the field.

Washington & Musgrave are the two real problems, Musgrave is like Gesicki, but a step faster and quicker.
Mayer, LaPorta, Kraft, Schoonmaker, Latu are good-excellent 2-way guys, but not particularly problematic except like any TE.
Kincaid is a purely receiving TE, doesn't do much more than get in the way blocking wise.
Kuntz might be the most athletic TE we've ever seen, but he doesn't seem that coordinated, his hands and route running are both raw, and he barely block.
Guys like Wylie, Billingsly, Mallory, Durham, and Strange would all be drafted for sure in most years - some on Day 2 - but may drift out of the draft this year.
Greaney is a problem, but super raw and never been tested against real competition.

It’s basic math. There are only 11 players on offense. When one plays 2TE offense (which I like), you try to count with your kid fingers, how many wide receivers can you put on the field ?

With this signing the Pats should stop entirely with looking at any more wide receivers. There are already not enough snaps or targets to go around now. Go fix the OLine
Could not agree more. The only bad thing about this is that it’s a one year deal. But then if he has to be franchised next year, that’s not super expensive for TEs.
I’m very hopeful this means they won’t be overpaying for a broncos WR or hopkin’s.
Let it be, draft a Tackle in the first, the all defense in the draft.

Ok dew we get it. You hate BB drafts. Your starting to remind me of Marshawn Lynch. Saying the same thing over & over again.

If you mean I hate high WR draft picks due to the Patriots draft record there, then yes. Everything else you’re wrong

How he keeps repeating his hatred for BB drafts . Strange & Thornton were horrible draft picks.
I like this signing. We might finally get production out 2 TE formations. Start hitting the seam routes again

Since you brought it up, Cole Strange had a POOR season and did not live up to a 1st round pick. Neither did Thornton so far on the 2nd rounder. What is there to even debate? The above are facts and reality.

Wait, wait, wait!

Those are all TE's?

You have 328 kids. Do you sleep?

Chances are good our WR room is set unless we trade Parker as I've previously suggested.

Looks like Jeudy is out. Broncos don't really want to trade him.
OBJ will end up a Cowboy with Jerruh overpaying.
DHop wants to go to a contender with a proven QB.

Focusing on the OL is next man up.

Cough it up!!!!!!!

I don't know anything. It's more the year long contract than the money and cap savings.
I've noticed an increase in the number of contracts that end soon and it has me wondering what BB is planning.

If Mayer is as good as the Ravens' Andrews I'm good with him at 14.

I like Laporta's athleticism. Kelce like...

Also like Spann-Ford from U of Minnesota, 270 lbs, rated as the best blocker in this year's class.

Billingsley is most likely not an option, left Alabama for "not putting the team first" or something along those lines.

I vote Washington or Musgrave as complete TEs but they'll probably go too high for BB.
Next up, the best pure blocking TE. A Hooman type would make BB smile

Too high for BB? A Tight End?
Since he's been here he spent 2 1s, a 2, 3 3s, 3 4s, and plenty of change on TEs.

That's not what I meant. Too high because we have more impt needs elsewhere unless CB and OT are set before the draft.
