Patriots select Christain Gonzalez with the #17th pick.

what i like so far is gonzales keeps saying he loves to learn and study film on his own, knowing what he needs to improve. if he's a cerebral player, that will help a bunch with losing dmac, albeit at a different position. i count on dugger as the brains of the safeties.

Speedy has just turned 21. In spite of being a consensus top 10 rated player, it is said that he has a big upside with good coaching.

I fell asleep after the second pic and woke up at 2:30 in the morning and saw our pick and I said to myself yeah that’s pretty damn good pick.

And we don't really need to start him right away, as talented as he obviously is.

Last year it was highly unusual that we drafted two guys in the middle rounds who played at an advanced level as rookies in our (demanding) system and both
earned a ton of snaps. Now we add a supremely gifted kid with size into that mix and I have no idea whether when he will start, but he might need some time and we
won't feel pressured to throw him to the wolves and can work him in gradually.

And, as I mentioned a few weeks back, this could serve to help our Offense by limiting Marcus' snap load on D and using him to demand a response by opponent's Ds. And
we can spot him up in matchups that are more in his favor then in last year's Cincy game in which he had to cover Tee Higgins who is a full head taller than him.

We also have Ty Montgomery to be that skitterbug receiver. This is getting exciting. Can't wait to see it in action.

Someone hacked into Volins account?

Based on history, this kids and his agent must be very happy this morning.

Dude will play out his rookie deal becoming a top shutdown corner, then make a bazzilion dollars in FA, maybe here, maybe somewhere else.

Abd we get 5 years (at least) of solid production.

Well, he was predicted to go way higher, and CB is a need. He definitely fell right into BB's lap. Even after a trade down for more value. Hopefully he'll be awesome!

Really great news, the consensus seems to be that the Patriots got a steal. Bill must have been delighted to find him at that point in the draft? Good points below, it will also affect Jack Jones enabling to move him into the Nickel role. With everyone healthy, the Patriots are going to have one hell of a defense. It's smart from Bill and his team, he knows full well the quality of the offenses we will face next season.

This entire deal was incredible

Pittsburgh took Broderick Jones from the jets and they reacted by taking a big name with Will McDonald IV because they weren't prepared for Jones to be snagged. Word got out that the Patriots didn't like something about Jones and the jets wanted to prove them wrong.

BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gonzalez quietly slides to #17 and the Patriots swoop in.

17. Patriots (from Steelers) – CB Christian Gonzalez, Oregon

The 6-1, 197-pound All-Pac-12 performer had four INTs and seven passes defensed in 2022 and showcased his explosiveness at the combine, running a 4.38 40-yard dash, posting a 41½-inch vertical leap and broad jumping 11 feet, 1 inch. Given the value here – Gonzalez was widely projected as a top-10 selection – and his ability to play man or zone, he's a good fit for a team that needs help at corner ... especially at a time when New England will be in the unfamiliar position of facing a superior quarterback in all of its divisional games.

#46 - Cody Mauch OT N. Dak St or Matthew Bergeron OT SYR

#76 - A.T Perry WR WF

Saturday will be a barnburner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Umm.

Morpheus is one of my pen names.

Did someone slip me a Mickey and throw me on a flight to Ohio?

Oh shit! I'm in flyover country?

Where's the airport?

Gotta get back to the real world in Boston.
