If that is possible, thanks. Perhaps make it a subforum of the archive forum? I can see being able to view political discussions and a no politics rule as potentially difficult, especially for new members. If it's a sub of the archives, that's pretty clear.

Hmm....I got no idea. I'm using Explorer too and am running fine (I actually have 3 PCs here at work, no problems on any of them). You should maybe start a thread asking if anyone else has seen this problem.
Usually when you see this problem, it's because your PC is low on virtual memory (usually older PCs where you have a bunch of crap installed on them). Most of the time when this is the case, rebooting will clear up that memory and allow all the smilies, etc. to load up.
I am using Explorer (I have to for now because my laptop is broke..long story) and I think he is at work too. But I have been using it for a while and it was working fine yesterday.
I am still broken. FT has the quote boxes on his end too. I think we broke teh innernetz.
