Looking At The Patriots 2022

BB and the Pats have never subscribed to the two major scouting organisations, it's all in-house and independent, he's long thrown a middle finger to the rest of the league in that regard, it's partly why major media outlets will often grade the Patriots poorly, because their own board is built independently from the outlets which aggregate their draft boards by using the info from National Football Scouting (The National) and BLESTO, with a few minor variations

I know. That's what I meant.

I plan to watch some Baylor, LSU,etc,, football games just to see.

There's always a let down after the draft. You learn 50 to 100 names and you get one or two on your team.

There is a kind of let down. Every year I think I'm done with trying to absorb all the info, but I keep doing it.

The payoff comes when you're watching a game that doesn't involve the Pats and know something about guys
you'd of otherwise never heard of.

Also, good for you for watching the actual games. That's still the best way to figure out who the players are. A lot
of guys do great in shorts and a tank top but go invisible during actual games.

Yep. As you said, we are now a running team in a league/conference all about the pass game and explosive plays. It is what it is. We are never going to morph into that team as long as Bill is here as he old school. That being said, I am looking forward to Mac in year two despite the coaching. I think he takes a good step forward and we have a winning record.

Tiny factoid, Pats draft pick Hines and UDFA Shanahan competed for the center position at LSU.

True. He clearly hit his career ceiling around week 10 last year. :coffee:
Parcells used to say, "If they don't bite as puppies, they don't bite as dogs", or some such thing. I don't have many concerns with Mac, he can play, but not only that, he can lead, which for a young kid at that position, crazy to expect more at this point.

Yup, he's only going to get worse. If he was a high priced race horse, they'd shoot him. Holy shit, sometimes the moronic, anti-NE dialogue here defies belief...
I don't think that was what he was saying at all. He definitely had some bumps late in the season but for a rookie QB you have to expect that. Aside from that, if you watch watch Mac in the playoff game , he was one of the best players we had on the field and even when the game was over, there was no quit in that kid.

He is small and straight-line slow, but he plays faster than that and he's very sudden. My guess is that he gets practice squadded as a useful piece to represent running QBs and gadget skills players.
