Yes he was truly a great man . I hope your mom gets to meet that little one too. My Daughter just got married in December. Can wait till she has a little one.

And in case you hadn't figured it out, that's her on her wedding day.

I keep hoping that they (mom is 89) make it until my daughter has her baby in August. They have great-grandchildren from my brother's children, but my daughter is the favorite, without question. They're both so excited that she's pregnant. My daughter lost her dad, my husband, when she was 17, and every milestone event - prom, graduation, scholarships, college, Master's, wedding, has been with joy and sadness for her. She chose not to have anyone walk her down the aisle, and that was a statement in itself. Dads are so important....yours sounds as though he was as great as mine.

Too bad it truly is one remarkable course but I hear ya about the cost. And who ever told you that you have an eye for composition is correct. You have some really great shots there.

I didn't get to play Old Head, but have heard lots. I'm not good enough to drop that kind of money on one round of golf no matter how good it is.

I just read a book called "a course called Ireland" by Tom Coyne. The guy walked almost the entire country and played all over. Great book that captured not only the spirit of golfing there, but the country itself. Highly recommended for anyone that has played there and he loved Old Head despite the controversy about the place.
