I pulled this out of the support thread to answer.

#59 was the jersey number of Vincent "Undertaker" Brown

The asterisk was added a ton of years ago when everyone that wasn't a Patriots fan and was coming to the board put an asterisk next to the Patriots name because of Spygate and Deflatedballsgate. It was a way to embrace it.

But here's the thing. no-one will ever win as long as the site and the thread exist so I could try 100,000 times and not get anywhere. Yet as a post whore, I see the thread as a gift from God.
