Is it taboo to say this already? Many already have. Anyway, 2021 feels similar to 2001 (the NFL season), sans the Bledsoe distraction.

i agree, but i do think he is discounting the importance tb's play in 01 a little bit.Mac Jones ‘is better than what Tom Brady was’ in 2001, Kurt Warner says

Great post!I'm not sure about that, HS. Brady wasn't the centerpiece of that team. Our D was the centerpiece that kept us in games and Tom was a game manager tasked with not turning the ball over and handing off to Antowain Smith. For the regular season Brady completed 64% of his passes, had 18 TDs and 12 ints. He threw for 189 yds/game. He also had 12 fumbles.
We got lucky with the tuck rule and you know the rest of that story. Then Bledsoe saved us from elimination when Tom was hobbling on 1 ankle in the AFCCG against Pittsburgh. Bledsoe took the field with 1:40 left in the first half and went 3-for-3 for 26 yards, hitting David Patten in the end zone to cap the Patriots’ drive with a touchdown to put the Patriots up 14-3. The Patriots’ other touchdowns came on a punt return by Troy Brown for the first score, then a blocked field goal attempt by Brandon Mitchell that Antwan Harris took to the house off a lateral from Brown. That's 3 TDs scored against the Steelers that Tom had nothing to do with. The Pats won 24-17.
In the SB vs the Rams Tom had 1 great drive, the one to end the SB for the win against the Rams. That drive is etched in our memory just as Ty Law's interception and run down the sideline for a TD is etched in our memory. But other than that drive, Brady completed 16 passes for 134 yds in that SB won by the Pats 20-17. Those Greatest Show on Turf Rams had been held to below 17 pts in a game only 3 times over the previous 3 years and all 3 teams that did it were NFC teams who knew the Rams well, the Giants, the Panthers and Tampa Bay.
Easy to forget about TB's fumbles since Kevin Faulk was a HOF fumbler in his own right at this stage of his career.forgot about the fumbles. he was that way for a few seasons iirc.
agreed on the level of contribution. but tb always had great field vision and that was huge.
Also we may be talking ourselves into it a little bit. Maybe. Is it taboo to say this already? Many already have. Anyway, 2021 feels similar to 2001 (the NFL season), sans the Bledsoe distraction.

We have a Bledsoe this year, actually. Maybe he'll controversially replace DMac!Also we may be talking ourselves into it a little bit. Maybe.

I mean, here's the thing that gets lost.We have a Bledsoe this year, actually. Maybe he'll controversially replace DMac!
tb probably started or played in more games in college than mac did too.I mean, here's the thing that gets lost.
Brady sat for an entire season behind Bledsoe and Damon Huard. Everything he did, he did in his 2nd year. Mac Jones is still a rookie, with the legendary Brian Hoyer there to say 'Good Job Kid' when he comes off the field.
To me, it's magnitudes more impressive what Jones is doing now, and speaks to how good this coaching staff has become in the last 20 years.
he absolutely did.tb probably started or played in more games in college than mac did too.
Thankfully Porter had stone hands or we'd be talking about how Bledsoe killed us in the AFCCG. He did make one of the best throws of his career for a 1st down that sealed the game, I'll give him that. Then Bledsoe saved us from elimination when Tom was hobbling on 1 ankle in the AFCCG against Pittsburgh.
