2023: Higher or lower than the crowd on...

Well Jones was healthy enough to play.

You can tell me he didn't do jack. I saw him move the football in the same dysfunctional offense with an actual pop-gun arm. What I believe about Zappe's potential in the league is irrelevant, when I have actual results that I saw on the field.

For the record, Jones had 288 completions in 14 games. It's not like he was setting the world on fire by your metric, either.
That is my point the Offence was so bad last year that no QB was going to get much production This tells it all
Yards per game: 26th, 314.6
Rush yards/game: 24th, 106.6
Rush yards/play: 21st, 4.24
Pass yards/game: 20th, 206.4
Pass yards/play: 15th, 6.60
First downs/game: 28th, 16.9

Points per game*: 17th, 21.4
Pass touchdowns: tied-19th, 19
Rush touchdowns: tied-22nd, 12
Passer rating: 17th, 87.7
They were not the worst but not because Patricia didn't try to get them there. Jones and the rest of the offensive players did just about all they could in that shit show. Few if any QBs could have done much better with out telling the OC to go F*** himself and taking over it himself. There is no 2nd year QB who could have done that.

Maybe not. We're going to find out.
What I do know is, the QB production last year was unacceptable. And as easy as it might be for you and others to go 'Patricia's a buffoon, everything was his fault', and pretend it didn't happen, it's not so easy for me.
You might end up being 100% right. I hope you are.

Don't worry I am.

We need to see it. To think BOB is going to step in and everything is going to run smooth all season is pie in the sky. There will be issues and obstacles, like there is every season. What we need to see is how Mac will handle the inevitable bumps psychologically and then how he can translate good play even when frustrated.

I am pretty sure that Mazz has no concept of such a thing. She is so sure that with out Brady, Bellichick has no idea how to coach and that the OC had no impact of Brady's success.
Well she is entitled to be wrong.

6. In 14 starts.
Zappe won 2 in 2 starts.

What are we even talking about here? We're just pretending this didn't happen now? Mac Jones didn't actually play in 2022 and it's a figment of our collective imaginations?

How is stating a completely verifiable fact a reach?

Again: Bailey Zappe will never be more than a competent backup in the NFL. He has no arm at all, it's actually hilarious.

Mac Jones showed lots of potential his rookie year, there is lots to like, and has shown flashes at times. He didn't last year. It was a regression by any statistical measure.

Mac Jones should be the unquestioned starter on this team. Literally no one is disputing that. He is the best QB on the roster.

Now that we ALL AGREE On that, what I'm saying, is that HE NEEDS TO SHOW ON THE FIELD THAT HE'S A TOP-FLIGHT NFL STARTING QB IN 2023. Saying 'It's all Matt Patricia's Fault' and pretending that 2022 never happened is absolute folly, and again, it's NOT UNREASONABLE to say that.
All of the typesetting above aside, we agree that each player needs to prove himself. Every year.

It around the edges where I think you make mistakes in your assessment of Mac.

Time will tell.

100%. Exactly! The last two sentences say it all.

higher on fins because of fangio.
lower on buff...just don't get good vibes about them.not sure mcdermott can take them next level.

I think the chargers are going to win the AFC West.

I'm in full agreement on both. Fangio was a smart hire by Miami. What a job he did in SF when he was there.
Buffalo lost both coordinators in the last 2 years, DC Leslie Frazier walked away this year. That can't help. Losing LB Tremaine Edmunds is going to hurt, too.
Maybe both teams and the Jets will believe their press clippings.

Frazier isn't exactly good...at least the defenses under him anyway. But, the conspiracy theorist in me says that maybe they were told to lose it at the end (the Chefs sure get a lot of "luck" these days). Not sure. It was one of the most WTF am I watching here endings ever. It was like the NFL is the same thing as the WWE.

Maybe the script will help Jones this year...maybe Babooshka paid a lot more into that script? :coffee:

But Kellen Moore is a great match with Herbert.
Are we sure about that?

It's not like Dak was tearing it up at the end of the year. I guess he gets some credit with the Cooper Rush time he was in there.

Seriously, look at everyone over the last decade ESPN and the NFL have hyped up as offensive gurus. How are these guys actually doing?
