2025 Draft

I think they need to do enough in Free Agency to give them the flexibility on the draft where they don’t have to pick primarily for need. They can help themselves enormously if they have multiple options.
I think we will feel a lot better - or a lot worse - depending how FA goes. Pats have the cash but will RKK spend it and will players want to come here 🤷

Gonna suck if we offer more but players choose somewhere else

I've said it before, but outside of LT, I just want to get the talent on this team up to league average, and be in position to not have to fill immediate needs in the draft.

I think it’s being a little overblown that players won’t come here. Sure, it’s harder initially because the team isn’t good, but that’s the whole point, and we will have to pay more at least for awhile but if Maye is what we hope, and Vrabel can some success then I really don’t think it will be a long term issue. We weren’t talking about this for 20 years, and all of a sudden no one wants to play here? I don’t buy it. Over spend this year, get some talent in to turn the outlook around and players will come.

If you build it, they will come.

Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona

Jonah Savaiinaea’s draft stock has long been shrouded in mystery: is he a tackle or a guard? At 6’3” and 339 pounds with 34.5” arms, the answer is clear — he’s built to be a dominant NFL tackle. His size and physical traits will allow him to stay at right tackle, and the Arizona Wildcats’ standout should be making his case to remain on the outside at the next level.

While his versatility is undoubtedly a plus, Savaiinaea has established himself as one of the best right tackle prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. With impressive intelligence, awareness, and strength, combined with his verified measurables, his draft stock should now increase.

The problem with this is that you can train as a part time WR, just a few packages and a few routes. Hard to do that as a part-time CB unless you're willing to give away the game that it's pure man coverage on that side.
He is reportedly good at zone too. Just saying put him in as a third or fourth CB on passing downs.

I have checked all the possible OLT who are graded 1st or 2nd round in this years draft. I can't find a single p,ayer who's arm length is 34 inches or better. There are a couple with 331/2 and many who measure 33.

It’s a terrible year to need a high end LT or WR. I don’t see a big difference between the top 4 or 5 LTs.
With Campbell I’m reading a some negative reports on his footwork as well, but who knows.
Reading good reports on Josh Simmons recovery from his torn PCL. He seems to be ahead of schedule.
Hopefully they can trade back to the second half of the first, draft 2 of these guys, have one stick and move the other to guard who can fill in in a pinch.

2024: 11 OT at 6’7” or taller, 20 with 34” or longer arms

2025: 7 OT at 6’7” or taller, 9 with 34” or longer arms

There have been some rumblings that the combine measurements this year were universally short. They were shorter than the measurements at the shrine and senior bowls by an average of around 3/8". It's statistically wildly improbable that an entire class would be short-armed like this.

I would say the measurements at individual team workouts and pro days will be watched very carefully this year.
