2025 NFL Coaches Discussion

Does anyone think that spags or Fangio gets another shot at head coach? I personally think they're both superior coordinators who aren't head coaches but you know that doesn't stop owners.🤣
I think they're all looking for the new hotness young offensive mind now.
Fangio isn’t a head coach. Agreed. He’s like Wade Phillips.

A pertinent article for this thread:

Seeing Tomlin and McDermott mentioned is no surprise. But I didn't know the Matt LaFleur in Green Bay was viewed in a poor light.

They need to look at people on Kyle Shanahan staff because that Shanahan coaching tree starting with dad is tremendous.
But you know ,Napolian has to be in the hall of fame and not Mike Shanahan.

That guy is a legitimate, genuine dink.He deserves the very worst that can come to someone who loses their job due to brazen incompetence. He's despicable.
I don't know. The guy's dry sense of humor kinda cracks me up. Bonus points for trolling Bills fans. 🤷‍♂️

Packers fans think the Packers are a lot better than they actually are.

Yeah, I should have been clearer. I have no problem with him jabbing the Bills and/or their fans. It's just that I've seen this turd pull this crap before with other teams, including the Patriots, and he should just shut his trap sometimes., but he seemingly never does.

I think Jordan Love is Matt LaFleur's biggest problem. You just never know what you're going to get from that guy. He'll have some tremendous games that make his overall stats look competitive when considered against other QBs from draft classes around the time he was drafted, but he can also look completely lost out there, like he did against the Eagles the other night.

Mac Jones is on the list? ☕

Nice article listing all the coaches who may get their walking papers:

I still contend that Pete Carroll is doing an awful job and he, nor Geno Smith should return in 2026. They may very well make Chip Kelly the fall guy but Geno has incentives in 2026 that, if met, trigger a 3rd year of his contract for 2027. There is no way the Raiders should risk that happening. It's big cap hit to cut him but at a minimum. he should really only serve as a back-up. I am actually a big Geno fan and love his story, but he looks as washed as they come.

I've made my feelings clear on Pete.

If Morris goes in ATL then so does the GM who signed Cousins and then drafted Penix. Can't just be Morris.

Same with Cleveland, if Stefanski goes, so does the GM. They should have traded Garrett for future draft capital. Now you have a Maserati and only a carport to park it under. Good job, Browns! :thumb: (I still think Stefanski will be out because they have to pretend that they are mixing things up in order to show the fanbase they are working to solve this mess - even though they aren't)

I'm surprised to see Pete Carroll come up first in that article. The Raiders still owe Josh McDaniels $10M/year through the '28 season. Will Mark Davis really want
to have 2 former head coaches on his payroll as well as Chip Kelly, who was the highest paid OC in the league until he was fired in early October?

Tomlin? All I can say is that he is great if average is your goal and his talking points light up your life. To me, he's a little better version of Jeff Fisher. Both stuck in a time loop
Bengals' Zac Taylor? So many wasted opportunities despite far too much money spent on offense. I'd be pissed if I were a Bengals fan.
