Yes - he's not been successful at all. His career winning percentage is .398.
That's pretty low - in six years as a head coach, he had one season above .500. And has never led a team to the playoffs.
That was a strange year. The Bucs and Giants each won 10 games and failed to make the playoffs. The 7-9 Seahawks won their division and everyone was up in arms over the idea that a team with a losing record could make the playoffs. Then the Seahawks knock off the 11-5 Saints (and defending SB champs) in the WC round.
Jets fans are pissed that their coach hasn't been fired yet.

John Harbaugh out as Ravens coach after missing playoffs
The Ravens fired John Harbaugh, less than 48 hours after losing to the Steelers and failing to reach the playoffs. Sources told ESPN that he is expected to emerge as a favorite for the Giants job but will be in demand for many other teams as well.

From what I've read, the owner made a statement that said he decided a change at head coach was needed. So yes, I think it's fair to say that the Ravens have fired Harbaugh.
