I sense the Pats are tightening their belt this year in preparation for big contracts coming up for Gonzo and Maye the year after.
Let's keep all FA talk in this thread for efficiency.

I don't see how this will happen because of the Eagles' dead cap number

Kolar would be cheaper, and is a much better blocker.
Likely is not worth what he’s going to command as a FA.

Why on earth would the Eagles take on the $50M cap hit by trading AJ Brown? That's a ridiculous thought!

I could be batshit crazy, but didn't the patriots already have him?Or was it some other player named likely?
I think it Likely it was some other Likely since this Likely was drafted and only played for the Ravens.(Most Likely) ;)

:insane:

A $50M cap hit for the Eagles says it's not likely.
What if we sign Isiah Likely and trade him as part of the deal that would that make it more Likely?
(I know using the same joke over and over again but I'm Likely to do that :banghead: )

I love the idea of trading for Brian Thomas Jr. even if it took a first. Maye can make those outside throws and utilize his route tree.
I don’t view Wolfs quote on pass catchers as not wanting a number 1. Just a reflection of the reality that there isn’t one in FA, and the guys who will be there in the draft are either too small or one trick ponies.

I didn't expect in a million years for the Pats to be picking as low as 31 in the 2026 draft, but Thomas would absolutely be worth trading #31 for. I do think they'd have to add a sweetener pick on top of that in order to outbid others but I would strongly consider it.

If Eagles are willing to take on a $50 million cap hit to get rid of him that should be an immediate red flag.

AJ Brown forcing his way out of town to come to the Pats looks suspect considering all the factors.

I'd be more inclined to go after a Michael Pittman Jr or Brian Thomas Jr at the right price.
