are the aug 11. 19, and 20 joint practices really open to the public? Or restricted to seasons tickets holders/Foxboro residents?

Is Gabe Jacas going too be there ?
I know his agent plays hardball in regard to contracts, but there's also the report
Jacas had surgery and Pats might not be comfortable with his medicals now :patpatriot32:

Mike Reiss' Quick Hits

1. Saturday practice: The Patriots will be making history this week as they begin what they hope will be a return trip to the Super Bowl.

Since the team moved its training camp to Gillette Stadium 24 years ago, never before has the first practice been on a Saturday. That is traditionally the day that draws the largest crowds, which have swelled to as many as 10,000-plus surrounding the two fields behind Gillette Stadium as the standing room only crowd sometimes spills onto the ramps overlooking the action.

So buckle up for Saturday as quarterback Drake Maye & Co. take the field for the first time (10:30 a.m. ET).

The Patriots start camp earlier this year because their first regular-season game is the NFL's opener -- a Super Bowl rematch Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Seattle Seahawks. Coaches are scheduled to be back in the office Monday, rookies/QBs and select others are scheduled to be in Wednesday and the rest of the players report Friday.

5. Onwenu incentives: One follow-up on the revised contract signed by Patriots starting right guard Mike Onwenu that reduced his salary cap charge by $7.5 million but gave him $10 million in guarantees/bonuses: He can earn an additional $1 million if he's elected to the Pro Bowl on the original ballot, and another $1 million if he voted an Associated Press first- or second-team All-Pro.

Onwenu enters his seventh NFL season and has not previously earned either distinction.

6. They said it: "I'm looking forward to getting into camp and building some chemistry. I know there's already some there for me -- you just have to throw it near him and he'll make a play. He's been great so far and he loves to win, so we can share that." -- Maye on playing with WR A.J. Brown

7. Did You Know: Stevenson enters the 2026 season in fifth place in team history with 3,669 rushing yards, and he needs 331 yards to join Sam Cunningham (5,453), Jim Nance (5,323) and Tony Collins (4,647) as the only Patriots players to reach 4,000 rushing yards.

I'd love for someone to tell us what's going on with Jacas

That still seems like a reach but we really have little details.

Jacas might have played some games. Seems like he waited until after the draft for a surgery. Now seems like we are waiting until he can get on the field to sign him. Hard to say if there are any hard feelings and hard to say when he'll be ready but I have to imagine it would be sooner than later.

The Patriots will hold their first practice of training camp on Saturday and it looks like second-round pick Gabe Jacas will not be part of it.

Jacas remains unsigned — he is the only unsigned second-round pick in the league — and head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed on Friday that the linebacker did not report to camp. Jacas dealt with a number of injuries this offseason and did not take part in any part of the team’s offseason program.

Vrabel said he’s “positive” that Jacas’s contract will get done at some point, but declined to put a timeline on the process. He also said he doesn’t know if the rookie is healthy enough to take part in practice.

“I can only go by what [Jacas] says. And so when he gets here, we’ll evaluate that,” Vrabel said, via Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald. “Of course, we’ll be as smart as we can just to see because we haven’t seen him with us. But I would say that — I’d use the words cautiously optimistic. But again, those conversations have been great, and excited to see where he’s at.”

It’s not the ideal way for Jacas to start his NFL career, but getting healthy and on the field as soon as possible would make it easier to turn the rocky beginning around.

I’d be tempted to cut Jacas just to make a point.
I love draft picks but it’s not like the Pats don’t have a decade of blown 2nd rounders behind them.
Drake Mayes improvement and coaching from Josh and Vrable are solely behind this team being competitive. Plus Milton being a total stud.
It damn sure isn’t the last few draft classes.
