I like Chism, as I've always had a soft spot for the unheralded little guy ever since I was backing Troy Brown before anyone else. But with this much talent at WR, I can't see Chism making it unless they keep 7. It's not impossible for them to keep 7, if they decide to go light at TE or RB.

  • LT Will Campbell was back in full-team drills
  • PUP: Harold Landry III, NFI: S Brenden Schooler
  • One play of the day: Drake Maye hit Romeo Doubs for a TD on a corner fade over Christian Gonzalez.
  • CB Kindle Vildor started opposite Christian Gonzalez in 11s
  • Tommy DeVito hit Kyle Williams deep in 11s. Williams later had a drop in 7s.
  • Casey at the Bat: DT Casey Rogers batted two passes down in 11s.
  • Busy day for Efton Chism. Seven catches in team drills, including a leaping TD over Marcellas Dial
  • Also an active day for TE Jack Westover, who caught four passes in team drills
  • Caleb Lomu worked at backup LT. Marcus Bryant worked at backup RT.
  • PBUs: Christian Gonzalez x2, Channing Canada, Kindle Vildor
 
Don't be surprised if the Pats have some difficulties with the Colts this week, mainly on the lines.

Last year the Seahawks had a hard time pulling out a win against the Colts at home.
 
I'm hearing Chism and Raridon have surprised coaches with their performances the last 2 weeks.
Raridon is getting a lot of practice time with the 1s in 11 personnel and he's earning more play time.

They came out first play lined up 1 on 1 right in front of me. I'm able to spot myself in the clip lol. AJ made Sauce look silly.

I'm not sure Sauce let up another play after that though. Our offense did win but I think we were picking on everyone else. And it seemed like all our receivers and Henry and Raridon managed to make some plays. Drake and Davito really spread it around.

  • Solid day overall from the offense. Good plays from Eli Raridon, Kyle Williams, Efton Chism, DeMario Douglas, Rhamondre Stevenson
  • No Christian Gonzalez, Mike Brown, Kyle Dixon, Brenden Schooler and Harold Landry III
  • Brief fight involving Colts DE Darell Nchami and the Patriots during a special teams drill. Unclear which Patriots were involved.
  • Strip sack from Elijah Ponder in 11s
  • Marcus Jones beat by Josh Downs for a red zone TD. Downs was jawing after the catch
  • Patriots S John Saunders picked off Colts QB Riley Leonard in 11s

Which isn't to say that Eli will take over the top spot. There's something to be said for experience both in the Patriots offense and against other defensive schemes. That said, it raises the hair on the back of my neck in a good way if we end up with two very good tight ends.

You're absolutely right that Henry will most likely keep his TE1 status. But, yes, it's great that Raridon is pushing forward quickly as a rookie. Maybe Raridon's ascension had more than a little to do with Henry accepting a modest extension.
