Since I didn't actually specify this was about only the Patriots' cuts....

The Bucs released RB Derrick Ward. The guy DID rush for 1000 yards with the Giants. I wouldn't mind seeing them bring him in for a look-see.

Taylor is gone.
Lockett should be next.
Kaczur maybe to IR and Barrett to IR for sure
1 more and maybe 2 if Kaczur doesn't go on IR.
Slater perhaps.

Don't forget, though, it's Darth Hoodie's "modus operandi" to actually be a few players under the legal limit so he can bring in some castoffs for a look-see. So I wouldn't be surprised if he goes a player or two below the cut line.

I find this a bit surprising, not because of who he is but what he plays. With Taylor gone, how many scrub RBs are left for this weeks' game? Are the Pats really going to play starters?

Good point and something a smart coach would do.

::: cough cough Maroney cough ::: :D

Seriously, though, I bet he gives Taylor and Morris one carry each to keep the rust off, and then gives the rest of the reps to BJGE, Maroney, and whatever RB he signs later today from another team.

Lockett was a useful STer and has been injured. It's possible the team might put him on PUP/IR (not sure if he is PUP eligible at this point) just to keep his rights and their long term options open.

Barrett probably won't be put on IR till tomorrow, because then the 4 year "vesting" rule doesn't apply any more, though it could happen today.

Not sure what they'll do with Kaczur. They may continue to hold a spot for him and monitor his progress.

Lots of other candidates on the fringes of the roster.
