Interesting to think that it wasn't that long ago Ron was on the hot seat and being berated for his cautious approach to coaching a game. Cue him becoming "Riverboat Ron" and the FO showing some faith in him and they've started to see the fruit of it all.

The deals they handed out to Stewart, Williams etc. really hamstrung the team.
 
I absolutely love Zim so I am happy for Minny. Even if BridgeH2O is out, they do have one of the few capable backup Qbs in Hill.

I do think Car is legit, as is any team with a great D, but I am gobsmacked that GB is not better.

IF the old adage of run at speed, dance around vs. bulk holds true, LegCarrot may be more valuable vs Den than even Lewis is.

Cincy is definitely 100% legit. They win when they aren't playing their best. They have sand in their pants now. Past iterations of Cincy would never have won those games vs. Sea & Pitt.
 
As of right now, this is how I see the AFC playoffs shaping up.

1. Pats
2. Cincy
3.Denver
4. Indy
5. Jets
6. Pittsburgh

Before yesterdays game I had Oakland as the # 6, after that loss I don't think they'll make the wildcard due to their schedule. But it is the NFL and anything can happen.

Payton's teems generally fade as the year goes on. Both he and his receivers tend to get beat up. Their lead in the division, though, is generally great enough that no one can catch them as they get weaker. Sounds like the same song is being reprised.

I actually thought the Bengals were real last year, until they were decimated by injuries. I just hate to see that happening to the Pats this year.

However, I would love to see Manning end his career by getting his 10th one and done in the playoffs this year.

The problem with the bengals being good this year is their fans think they can talk shit to anybody. One of their fans said we have a soft schedule like we pick our schedule or something. Also said Brady couldn't even throw 300 yards against the Redskins defense. He threw for 299. This is why I feel they need to sit their asses down. They haven't won shit EVER. They act like the Lombardi trophy should be given to them already.

Here's the thing.

This is all they have.

7 wins in a row in the regular season is SERIOUSLY ALL THEY HAVE other than losing to the 49ers twice, 30 years ago in the Super Bowl.

Their best QB in their history left Cincinnati 23 years ago.

From 1991-2004 they never once finished above .500, and had double-digit losses nine times. Nine.

They've made the playoffs 5 out of the last 6 years. Before that, in the entire 42 years of the franchise before that, they only made the playoffs 8 times. 4 out of the last 6 years, they've had double-digit wins. They've only had double-digit wins 7 other times in their history.

They're thumping their chest because they honestly don't know any better. Everyone else sees the historical trends, but they don't, because they only see the unprecedented success they've had in recent years.

They're a good team. They've never won donkey dick before. Let them have their regular-season Super Bowl wins, and we'll be the ones watching our team still playing in February.

Pat them on the head and say, "Aren't you cute."

To be honest, that was us between '94 - '98 (and a little bit in '85, '86). A few winning seasons, two AFC Championships and many losing seasons in-between. What we have now is truly historic and very unlikely to happen again in our lifetimes (once it's over) for any team, not just ours. I enjoy every game because it will someday be gone.

Which is why I can identify them. If they want to pound their chest over regular season stuff, good for them. They deserve it after being so crappy for so long (and they were abysmally bad, we were only the laughing stock of the league for a couple of years. They were the laughing stock of the league for a decade-plus), so I'm not mad at them.

At least they've got a good team and a reason to be excited, unlike Dolphins or Bills fans, who do their annual chest-beating with nothing to base it on. That stuff deserves my derision, and gets it.

Actually I live in Warner Robbins, Georgia now. OmG it's horrible. Spygatr, 18-1 and cheaters. Tom lady and other remarks but ever since that pick from Butler haven't heard nothing. DG was the only thing I haven't heard. Tbh tommy besides the Dolphins fans who came in here, I haven't heard from a dolphin fan. They are loyal as hell but had no reason to be hype this year. Actually one of them told me the patriots were hulk and they were Loki. He didn't believe they would win or that the score would be close. He said a LBs coach is not going to checkmate the emperor of the Galaxy lmao

Part of the problem with Bengals fans is that their team plays in the AFC North. They think that because the sports media narrative is all about how "tough" that division is it lends some kind of credence to that. What you are is a team of perennial bottom-dwellers (the Browns), a team that generally makes the playoffs by the skin of their teeth (the Ratbirds), and a couple teams that, over the last couple years, have swapped the division crown off and on. They haven't won a playoff game in 27 years. They don't know how to act. When this happens, there are 2 ways that you can go- humble or asshole. They chose asshole. They honestly think an 8-0 record in the middle of November means something. The SOS argument is one of those things that stupid fans like to bring up as if it has any meaning. BUT...because this is how I respond to things, I looked this up-

records of Pats opponents- 28-38

records of Bengals opponents- 26-42

so, when the question is "who have the Pats played?" from a bengals fan, the response is "who have the Bengals played?"

To this day, I still can't figure out why and how people don't understand NFL scheduling. People who understand it know 14 of the 16 opponents for 2016 already

Lewis is really the only big question at this point.

An nfl season is an exercise in attrition. teams like the pats who focus on depth come out at the end of the season. it would just be nice to have a week or two without anymore critical injuries.

6 games against the AFCE, Bengals, Colts, Broncos <<<< three teams leading division as we speak. AFCN I believe since we played AFCS this year and last year played the AFCW. NFCW this year was NFCE and last year was NFCN and this is just me guessing lmao
