AJ Brown?

I suppose I should have said he wants to play in a real pro offense instead of saying with a real QB.

I don't need to bone up I actually have a very high opinion of Hurts. I think his total package puts him in the conversation for top 5-10. But he's not a typical QB and not just the scrambling he's one of the guys who rarely lines up under center and no one would consider him a traditional QB.
I'm not a huge fan of hurts' game.I think he's too limited. And I think that offense is limited because of his limitations. I guess we'll find out more this year.

He makes up for his limitations in other ways though.

The QB position across the league is kind of a weird state so I put him up their kind of out of default.

15 years ago the top 5 was easy they were all hall of famer with years of experience and titles. Brady, Manning, Brees, Big Ben, Rodgers or whoever you want to pick depending on a given year.

Right now the only guy who fits all that is Mahomes. Stafford I guess fits that mold too. Mahomes is coming off injury but I still call him 1. Allen 2 but hasn't won anything and after those 3 its kind of a pick your favorite flavor and no one really has stronghold. I'd even say Maye is next but it's still such a small sample size.

Hurts despite the limitations has consistently won over a good period of time. You have to at least consider that some of that is worthy of consideration in comparison to some guys like Lawrence or Herbert who appear to be better passers but don't win at the same rate.

I think some of this could be due to the way people treat quarterbacks versus other players on the team.Yes, they are a singular position and the only one who touches the ball on every play so they have more importance. But I think some people equate them with the be all and end all of everything(i.e. giving them w-l records). Hurts actually proves that you can win with a "link in the chain" type quarterback, if you have good pieces and good coaching. the coaching was a little sus last year offensively and the year before their super bowl win , so the offence suffered despite the talent on it.
Look at a guy like burrow, whose talent is indisputable. he had a great year and great talent around him in 24.the team was still in the shitter because their defense sucked. do we "give" him those losses? i don't. then, there is peyton manning who was dragged to the super bowl by his defense his last time there .He never played well in any super bowl that I recall. should he have those terrible performance games as "wins"?

It doesn't matter who the QB is he was brought in to produce.

What if he doesn't approve of Maye?

The guy is going to be a problem. His trip is AJ Brown.

AJ produces. 6 of the 7 years in the league he's been over a 1,000 yards.

If he doesn't approve of Maye he'll probably still get a thousand he just did it last year with an offense he doesn't approve of. Plus I think Maye will go above and beyond to make sure he fits in and until there is a reason I'm going to assume Drake and AJ will get along.

I think you're over playing him being a problem. As far as I know there is no real world problem. He read a book on the sideline and wanted out of a college style offense is there something else I'm not aware of?

Do this, Google.....Is AJ Brown a problem......see what you find.

Most common answer I found was yes he's a problem.......for opposing defenses.

This took 5 seconds if that....

The star receiver became a bit of a distraction to the team away from the field throughout his time in Philadelphia, often expressing his issues with the role he had in the offense through social media or comments to reporters. While Brown's play was almost always elite enough to overshadow his theatrics, he found himself in headlines often for how he described his play, the team's play and ...............

There are a slew of that type of thing out there.

Just say.....Google is not my thing.....ok?

The guy is a selfish player who gets all butthurt if things don't go his way.

Do we really need this, it's not like he;s a Jerry Rice or Randy Moss.

My problem is that he’s 29 with a degenerative knee problem that 90 percent of GMs agree is an issue.
Dude was having it drained twice a week in the playoff run to that Super Bowl, and a complete non factor in those playoffs.
He’s a top 15 WR yes….. top ten???? No he is not.
Good GMs cough up 1st for these guys as they are entering their prime. Not leaving it.
He’s gonna be an upgrade for about a year and a half. Then the Pars are gonna have the same hole without a first round pick, and way more up against the cap.

Your Google revealed exactly what I said he didn't like the offense.

I asked what else is out there to indicate he's a problem?

Here's his full injury history. Doesn't seem too concerning.

Randy Moss was a problem.

Corey Dillon was a problem.

Chad Ochocinco was a problem.

Bryan Cox was a problem.

Rodney Harrison was a problem.

Stefon Diggs was a problem.

Winning cures all ills.

He might be cool for a year, but do doubt it.

Tom Brady was more revered than any of them and they knew that.

Maye is just a kid, big difference.

Will he replace Diggs' production from 2025 over the next 2-3 seasons?
Does Romeo Doubs provide a significantly better second option than what they ran out there a year ago?

If you want to quibble over money and compensation, that's valid. But even worst-case scenario, they're a much better offense than they were yesterday.

You can say 'his knee is teh amputae' all you want, but he's missed 12 games in 7 years, my dude. Boutte's missed more than that in just his three seasons in the league. Including 3 just last year.

Why was this thread created? There was an identical titled thread already started. Except for the question mark.
