AJ Brown

I'm hearing Brown will cost a 2028 1st but the Pats will also get a pick back from the Eagles.

Any guy who read a book on the sideline tells me all I need to know, do not want this weirdo.

He couldn't have cared less about what was going on out in the game, that will not work.

I played football no way in hell I could have not have been totally into what was going on.

This cat has a bad case of ......ME itist.

Jefferson, Chase, JSN, Lamb, Nabers, Puka, Wilson, London, St. Brown, heck I’ll put Brian Thomas in there cause I think Drake can actually get him the ball…….
I’ll take all of those guys over AJ.
For Gosh sake please Pats, do not throw away a first on a guy at best has two years left. At least shoot higher.

I don't like the Idea of giving up a first. But............
If Pats think this can be a big push (In a time when AFC is seemingly up for grabs)
Maybe you push all In

Belichick and Brady aren't walking through that door .

(Brady will be carried thru on the back of MAZZ, While Belichick will be
dragged thru by the ankle by Jordan Hudson )
Not Saying. .Just Saying

I dunno……. Maye and Vrable have a shot at doing a pretty good impression of them. Maye is the real deal.
Now is not the time to give up the long term for 2 years of a WR who’s wouldn’t crack the top ten on a lot of people’s lists.

I'm not for giving up the long term...

Bills are Down, Chiefs are Down, ...Bronco's, Houston ok they might be up?
,
Over all, might be last chance before your cashing out big money to Gonzo and Maye (Then you can't take this type of swing)

I've been down on any AJ Brown trade but finding I'm talking myself into it :coffee:

I'm in this same camp but I think a big part of it is that I am resigned to the fact the Pats have made up their minds and the trade is a foregone conclusion.
If it happens, AND the Diggs smoke is real - I don't wanna hear from the WR cult ever again.

I’m OK with AJ Brown being on this team, but I think the most important weakness that needed to be fixed was our offensive line. There was no offensive line during the Super Bowl. It was a turnstile embarrassment…

When your old car breaks down, is it better to patch it and save for something reliable that you don’t have a payment on?
Or is it better to go take out a loan on a Mercedes with 150,000 on it that your going to be paying back long after that Mercedes has broken down?

What do you do for a car while you're saving "for something reliable that you don't have a payment on"?

As for that Mercedes, it's a resounding NO from me. German cars are fine when under warranty but I'll never own one out of warranty ever again. Way too expensive to repair.

Or, you have several different cars in the garage.

Doubs and bring back Diggs.
Thats the radiator from the junkyard to get us to and from work until there’s a guy worth drafting with the pick they are about to trade away for Brown.

Doubs is fine but it's a no-go on Diggs. He fell off the proverbial cliff right in front of our eyes during the playoffs. I'm glad we had him last year but that fall was evident for everyone to see.

“I do think an A.J. Brown trade will happen. I also don’t think, for a variety of reasons, you’ll see Diggs and A.J. Brown together in New England. Now, I believe the Patriots love Diggs, and Diggs would love to return. But any realistic talk about his return, to me, hinges on whether the Brown trade happens. Assuming Brown does become a Patriot, I think Diggs will probably be somewhere in that one-year, $10 million range.”

Diggs will be 20 million less, not cost a first, probably go for 800 and 5, not b*tch, and still allow Josh to attack the weak spots in a defense. And they will only be on the hook with him for one year.
Brown will probably want 3 years of security and he ain’t gonna have 3 years of top production. Even now……. Is he a top ten WR? I don’t think so.
The problem last year on offense was not being able to consistently pick up steady yardage in the run game, and on paper the lines a lot better with more depth. Plus they brought that badass fullback in.
There’s no good immediate answer to improving the pass catchers. They haven’t been available in FA, there wasn’t an option worth passing on LOMU this year in the draft, and they opted to draft Campbell at 4 last year.
Brown will feel good this season, but I hope they play the long game here.
And it’s possible Kyle Williams can be an 800 yard and 5 TD guy.
If the Olive improves that’s gonna make a huge difference.
